If they want to go the cheap route and just use green paint for the 'mask'..fine...but I'm always going to be for actual masks.

Premiere wasn't bad. I'll keep watching for now.

But the guy playing Queen has no charisma or personality. I'm not sure if that's how the character is supposed to be.

It's not but its one of hose irritating small changes that make you go "...Really?" Its like calling Smallville Smallington.

On the bright side, DEATHSTROOOOOKE! :D

Which is fine, but if your asking the panel a question there is a way to do it by at least showing respect and not being rude about it.

Isn't Oliver Queen supposed to be a hippie and a player? Maybe he should adapt these personalities in the future.

Man, that teaser was really awesome.

Green Arrow's been one of my favorites, it's cool to see him get such a cool show. He was my favorite part of Smallville.

Also cool to see them incorporating the Year One arc in the show. That's my favorite GA graphic novel. :D

I agree.

I think the use of the paint mask is a direct result of internet whining about "domino" masks being un-realistic.As if quick-change,presto paint-mask remover is any more realistic.:whatever:

Yeah, it was a mistake making Oliver Apolitical...cause the actor could use some help in making his character actually have charisma, which Comic Oliver has loads of. That and the Batman Begins-lite tone are the shows biggest flaws so far.

I don't see how people are getting the impression that Oliver Queen is apolitical in this show. His first act as a super hero was to steal $40,000 from a corporate executive and give it to poor people. That's pretty hard line leftist.

Um...Because the guy playing him said he is?

I think it’s a mistake to say Oliver Queen is a liberal superhero targeting the wealthy. He’s targeting people who abuse their powers. Now is that mostly going to be the wealthy? Sure. Is Arrow a Democrat? Absolutely not. Is he a Republican? No, he’s not that either. He’s an idealist. And he’s going after a certain type of person, not a certain class of people.

The character's actions say otherwise. Plus, the creators of the show also said that the Occupy Wall Street movement and the concepts of the 1% and the 99% had an impact on the writing. The actor seems to be saying that in reference to political candidates and party membership, because stealing $40,000 dollars from a corporation and giving it to poor people is not apolitical.

....I see nothing in this post that shows that people are wrong for saying he's apolitical. He IS apolitical in the show, and like Amell said, he's going after a certain type of person, whether they be rich, poor, or in between.

It's clear that they want Arrow to be in the mold of heroes like Superman and Batman who can appeal to all people of political affiliations. Claiming that Arrow stealing 40 grand and giving it the poor instantly makes him liberal is like all those "Batman = Bush" comments after TDK came out.

Having seen the sizzle reel, still not sold on Amell, he sounds boring as all hell, but I'm gonna stick with this for a while because other things are looking good.

Looking forward to potentially seeing Arsenal on the series though, hopefully he will be more like his counterpart than Oliver is.

That sizzle reel was amazing, can't wait for more episodes.

I enjoyed the pilot, only hope in the future he adopts an actual mask and goatee

And was the guy that played Adam Hunt's new head of security in the Mortal Kombat web-series?

Do conservatives even watch the CW though?

Green Arrow works best as the left wing crusader that he is. He's freaking ROBIN HOOD, after all. His entire schtick is modeled after Robin Hood. Robbing from the rich and giving to the poor is that dreaded "redistribution of wealth" that Republicans are always harping about.

There's nothing apolitical about that. Regardless of a lack of party affiliation. That's political as hell. I'm certainly not apolitical, and I don't identify with either Republican or Democrat. Politics, liberal or conservative, are not defined by political parties. It's defined by actions and values. If he's going Robin Hood on the corporate exploiters of Star(ling) City, he's doing some leftist vigilantism.

I enjoyed the pilot a lot, but was also thinking the same thing. Hopefully my opinion changes as the season goes on.

Once again, Amell said that Arrow is going after a certain type of person, regardless if they're rich or poor.

I'm gonna stick with what the guy who's actually playing the character has said, not to mention my opinion on the matter.

At this point I would think they are going with the revenge type plot because they need to build a character and a story. The liberal crusader (robin hood) type figure, for me at least, would get boring quickly if they can't develop a good story arch for the season.

I'm sure we will get there at some point, but I take it we are going to be watching him cross those names off his list for now. There are so many directions the writers can take it, to me thats the fun of a tv series.

If the writers are smart we'll see his character move towards that point.

This. I'd like to see him become the liberal he is in the comics, but to act like he's there now? No thanks.
