Yeah, it would. Although, since Cavill is doing Man from UNCLE, that might put him out of the running for Bond (since they're both spy franchises). Maybe not though. I guess it depends on how well UNCLE does at the box office and with critics.

Have you guys all seen the clip that was on Kimmel last night? Some people were saying Henry's acting was "weak" in it, but I'm scratching my head over that one. I thought he did fine.

That's all they're talking about in the discussion thread lol. And some people saw the movie already so it's a huge spoiler thread now for real. I'm avoiding that thread 'til I see it.

Yeah, UNCLE is a remake of an old spy TV series. It was popular in its day, and ironically, the role Cavill is playing was previously played by Robert Vaughn (Superman III).

I agree completely, clips hardly used to do anything for me except make me worried. When I watched the X-Men: First Class clips they felt short uninteresting, but when I saw the films in the theaters I loved every second of it, even the same scenes shown as clips online.

Yeah, I remember my reaction to the clips I saw of Star Trek (2009). I was like... "Um, that was odd." But once I saw the movie, the scene made perfect sense.

Something was off but not because of anyone's acting. It's like a lot of clips that they show when actors go on talk shows to promote movies... it's just begging for more context to be effective. One can't judge acting too much from clips anyway. Acting choices sometimes don't make sense without the rest of the scene, and actors will play the same scene differently in different takes to give directors options later in the cutting room.

It seemed abit if to me at first but like any scene if its not in the context if the whole film then it can seem off. I always remember (I know this is animation) seeing a clip from the Dark Knight Returns Pt 1 thinking WOW Weller sounds off but when I watched the film he was superb, infact the same thing happened when I watched the trailer for Part 2 but I knew then that he'd sound fine when I actually saw the movie. So yeah I think it's all about context.

Just curious, can you give some examples?

The only one I remember was the scene where Kirk and Scotty show up on the Enterprise and Spock questions them about how they beamed onto the ship while it was warping. That whole scene, without knowing the background on it at all, just seemed so off to me. But in the movie it worked fine.
