Henry Cavill IS Superman: - - - - Part 13

Its a process. Now they don't have to maintain the eight pack throughout the shoot unless they are shirtless throughout (like say Butler in 300 or Cavill in Immortals). Normally, they peak for a week or two where they reach their most highly cut stage and that is when they film all their shirtless scenes and then they go to their normal routines again. Hemsworth in Thor and evans in CA both peaked for a single day, filmed their shirtless shot and then relaxed again.

For Man Of Steel, Cavill says the leaning phase lasted 6 weeks. That is he was on low calorie intake for 6 weeks and then 1 week of shooting for shirtless scenes. After that he could return to a more manageable routine.

I see. I still think that working out in itself is super hard work. We've all done it and it's hard man lol
So I really give props to a bunch of those guys that are able to do it.

I would love to get in that kind of shape[BLACKOUT], IF I was paid 10 million dollars for it, had the best trainers in the world overseeing my every rep, the best dietician in the world cooking my every meal and the assurance that my abs were going to be seen on 70 feet IMAX screens around the world by half a billion people. :P [/BLACKOUT]

So you would work out if you were paid to? Under the conditions that you had the best trainers in the world? A dietitian too? I don't know if it's lazy, unmotivated or what. LOL.

I guess I'm[ a self starter or self motivator.

Funny how he nearly missed out due to playing WoW... Never ceases to make me smile.

Hehe yeah, and I'm on these forums while playing WoW as well. I wonder if Henry plays Horde or Alliance :oldrazz:

Well yeah. Money would be the main motivation lol. At the end of the day though, still hard work.

There's a difference between being "in shape" and being in "Superman shape."

I'm in shape but I'd have to get paid A LOT of money to do what these guys have to do. $1 million will do for me, thanks. :oldrazz:

I have no idea how guys like Bale do it, yo-yo-ing 50 lbs at a time. I've been at the same height and weight for 15+ years. I have wavered 10 lbs in either direction in that time. (This includes the time where I had the stomach flu and didn't eat anything except an apple a day for about 2 weeks.)

If I had to eat 5000 calories a day to gain weight, I'd be the most miserable thing. And if I tried to lose weight, I'd have to literally not eat anything for a month. Some people's bodies just don't want to change. It isn't easy for most people.

I honestly have no reason whatsoever to be in that kind of shape. My job requires me to think a lot and solve a lot of problems, a very cerebral job. If I were to get in that kind of shape, it would be just for the sake of it and nothing else.

I am fit and very happy with my body and health. So I won't be trying it anytime soon. But once I do have more time in my life and the possibility of a settled schedule, I might attempt it.

I hear that Henry is shirtless in a lot of the movie. That is sexism if you really think about it. Like why can't he keep his shirt on? Cant he be a good Clark Kent/ Superman with a shirt ON. Or do we have to cator to the peverse women in the audience rather than . Haha. Kidding, but if I was uptight like SOME people I would be saying that. :p

I dunno, you'd still need to pay me a lot of money to get into THAT kind of shape. :oldrazz: There's really no reason to be ripped (ie, muscles showing through nonexistent body fat) aside from aesthetics.

I'm weightlifting because I have strong family history of osteoporosis. I want to build up bone mass. That's all. I don't care much what I look like, although my husband certainly isn't complaining about my now-muscular lower body. :hehe:

I hear ya. But some of my heroes are old school bodybuilders (Reg Park, Steve Reeve, Clancy Brown, George Eiferman etc). So Superman shape is always interesting to me. I told the story of my workout area having a huge Superman poster.

If Cavill is shirtless during a lot of the film it is going to be the best movie ever.

I'm still pretty bummed we haven't seen a single glimpse of Daily Planet Clark. It's like it's completely shrouded in secrecy or something. Not even an officially released picture or anything.

I remember a shot from the comic-con trailer of Clark putting glasses on in an elevator and the doors closing. I just hope that's not the last shot of the movie. I guess it could be pretty awesome if done right, but I'd like to see some Daily Planet Clark in the movie.

Ahhh, but think of all the new territory they could cover in the sequel if they leave that part mostly untouched.

Yeah, I can look at it in a positive as well. But I'm so curious to see his persona in the Daily Planet. I don't want to wait another 3 years or whatever to see what his Daily Planet Clark is like.

I think it has been more or less confirmed that [BLACKOUT]it is indeed the very last sequence in the movie. In short the ending is him adopting the disguise of reporter Clark.

There is Daily Planet but only from Jenny, Lois and White's perspective. Kent will join the team from the next film onwards.[/BLACKOUT]

If that's a spoiler from someone who's seen it, don't expect me to highlight that text :oldrazz:
