The Dark Knight New Interview!

:funny: @ his response to the sequel. Poor guy. :o

Ledger improvised the clap? Absolutely awesome. The guy really understood the character.

I think his character gets knocked off in the film by the joker

Heath Ledger is behind bars, and it's in the trailer actually, and it wasn't scripted. He improvised this where he started clapping along in a very mocking sardonic way. Immediately I knew 'Whoa, this guy's got this role right in his veins.

That's talent.

Great interview.

ah man "Lost" and "The Dark Knight" god just fantastic!!

Wow. Un scripted.....everyone must have been thinking "Whoa....he is taking this the whole way". I can only imagine how it would have felt to have seen that unexpected clap.

The look on his face is amazing. Very condescending and mocking. Awesome.

Cool interview.

Never knew that it was the same actor who played Batmanuel.

That's awesome that Ledger started clapping on his own, without it being in the script.

Heath improvised the clapping i love that he was a great actor

That was a solid interview.

Can't wait to see Heath's performance.

There was one particular moment that comes to mind that I did take note. I announce to a group of police officers and there is a big cheer in the room. Heath Ledger is behind bars, and it's in the trailer actually, and it wasn't scripted. He improvised this where he started clapping along in a very mocking sardonic way. Immediately I knew 'Whoa, this guy's got this role right in his veins. He knows this guy really well.'

That sounds a-mazing.

Sometimes improvised parts can turn out to be some of the best scenes- especially when it's done by a talented actor such as Heath.

Great interview though.

lol - I mean, the clapping was a really nice touch, and it showed he was in tune with the character, but it takes more than that to get an Oscar...

Hello Captain Obvious. Didn't Nestor quote someone at WB who has seen the entire performance as saying that it was Oscar-worthy? I don't think that WB person was saying it based all on a clapping scene. :hehe:

Well, I'm sure it's not something Heath just started doing. I would assume he suggested it to Nolan who then thought it was a cool take and decided to film it. It doesn't seem like the sort of scene that a director would capture spontaneously.

I think they perhaps recorded Heath performing many claps, but only one of those claps will be chosen for the end piece, for when he activates the bomb. But for the trailers, they just crammed all of the claps in there, to create the effect that, to this character, causing mayhem is as simple as, well, clapping.

You didn't read the part about improvisation did you? why would it be improvised if it was a plotpoint?

Well that was amazing

But it puts to bed the whole bomb in the thugs stomach clapping trigger thingy.
