Id agree on any other account, I love the place too, but this is Batman we're talking about. Its a whole nother level beyond the Mellon Arena and what it means to Pittsburgh.

Batman surpasses Iconic and having the arena torn down/blown up(what have you) in the movie would ONLY be an honor for that of the arena and its meaning to the city.

Totally agree. If theyre going to be paying to demolish it anyway, why not let Nolan and co. blow it the hell up and let it be immortalized on screen?

Well, I guess you do have a point there. If the arena is going to be torn down no matter what, then I suppose using it for the movie is okay. But I'd rather the building remain standing.

Im very curious as to this whole Civic Arena situation, part of me believes its not gonna happen and part of me believes that theyre trying to keep it under wraps until as close to D-day as possible.

I've got a lot of great memories of times at the Mellon/Civic Arena. To see it blown up in a Batman film would be another great memory and one that I could relive whenever I wanted to.

Kinda hope it's a true rumour.
