RoboCop Reboot - Part 1

I liked the over the top killing of murphy, makes you really feel for him when he returns, yeah its not realistic, but neither is a cyborg cop.
Me too, realism goes out the window with a film like this.

I think the original killing works perfect, with gore and everything, because somehow the effect of that scene makes you eager to see he coming back.
The murder is brutal for a reason.

I think a lot of you are getting ahead of yourselves. Padilha is no stranger to brutal death scenes. Anyone who's actually taken the time to watch the Tropa De Elite movies would know that.

But in 2029, a cyborg cop could be realistic. Being shot to hell and living through it can never be realistic :oldrazz:

Yes, but we are not in the 80s anymore, money talks and if they need to turn down on the violence to get another rating, they'll do it. We know how it is lately.

I still don't think my idea I said a page ago woulsnt be bad move. Have murphy going to a drug bust or what ever. There is a shootout with the bad guys. Murphy is poped in the head and is slowly dying. But also after the headshot happens there is a barrad of bullets getting shot and like I said murphy could be by his car it get hit and blows up damaging murphy body more so only parts of it are usage for ocp/or as I said he was by oil bins and they blow up in firefight and so for.

I don't think we'll have cyborg cops in 2029. But like..it's a movie. You shouldn't have to live by 2029 "realism" rules when we aren't in 2029.

By the time 2029 rolls around, we should be able to have sex with devices on our heads, and we should all get tickets for swearing in public. And of course, how can we forget about the 3 seashells?

Yeah, but whats more plausible? Robocops in 2029? or living a full and happy life with bullet holes in your body and head?

I don't care what's more plausible. It's not real and it's not supposed to be.

But Robocop was never treat as a pure fantasy movie. It relied on real world rules and the possibilities that everything in it might one day happen. They made it appear plausible and realistic. But being being blown to bits and surviving isn't plausibe or realistic...neither is what happened to Emil with the tank of chemical waste...

Like every movie, exaggerations have to be made. But Robocop was meant to run of realistic fumes, judging by the tone, and not on fantasy fumes.

I guess the panel wasn't today. With what time it is in SD.

But it has fantasy elements, as you've already mentioned. It's not going to be seen as realistic anyway, it's about a robot-cop.

Well I stand by Back To The Future's predictions that flying cars will be around by 2015! :D

Robocop has always been in a fantasy sci-fi category. It's not heavy in fantasy themes, but they're there.

Still nothing so like I said earlier probabl be something Sunday.
