RoboCop Reboot - Part 1

They should have him get so injured that he becomes comatose. His family chooses to pull the plug but they use his body for the Robocop program. After the programming he starts getting his memory back. I think that would work.

NAH, THEY NEED A REASON TO REPLACE MOST OF HIS BODY WITH ROBOTICS. IF THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM AND HE'S JUST IN A COMA THEN THEY WOULDNT HAVE A REASON TO DO IT.

PLUS IF HIS OWN WIFE CHOOSES TO PULL HIS PLUG AFTER ONLY A SHORT WHILE THEN YOU WOULDNT REALLY FEEL FOR HER AND THE "MURPHY GETTING BACK TO HER" ASPECT OF THE STORY

They could have the thugs blow him apart like in the original and still have him survive. Maybe the doctor tells her he would be brain dead if he wakes up so she decides to pull the plug.

Do you guys think this remake will be closer to the original Robocop, or it's gonna turn out being like Total Recall?

2029 is the year Kyle Reese went back to stop the Terminator

But on a serious note, that sure is a change to make Murphy critically injured instead of brutally murdered.

EDIT: The ironic thing about my post is that Kyle Reese also went back to the year 1984. This was my 1984th post. Hmm.

IS there any you guys think thats they are just tonning it down for the plot synopsis? I'm REALLY excited for this film but nervous all the same.

well the easiest way death could go is maybe they do the classic headshot which kills him. But in the process who ever shot him shoots a boatload of bullets around say murphy was by his car, or say oil bins and it blows up and causes murphy's body to be damage beyond normal repair even if he was still alive. So they use parts of his body along with his brain they rewire and bing bang boom there you go.

Well still there is a lot of films that pushed there ratings for what they are worth. And worst come to worst maybe they will have two versions of the film a theatical pg 13 one. Then video release a directors cut/unrated cut with more violence.

But theres also swearing.

Well, who knows, maybe we'll have new, less offensive sounding, swear words in 2029? :hehe:

If its an accident like a hit and run or a stray bullet..I'll be abit let down.

When is the Robocop panel? I've still got my fingers crossed for a reveal!

so judging by the synopsis, it seems that Murphy won't die. rather he'll be badly injured and will need mechanical/robotic parts to stay alive. ehhhh....

But the thing is. OCP harvesting Murphy's body parts for Robocop was meant to be a closely guarded secret. He didn't know that he was once Alex Murphy, until his memory resurfaced. Then he gave away his identity to his wife cause he would drive past her house day after day. OCP never counted on him regaining his memories, which obviously jeopardised their reputation, and jeopardised Robocop's very being...hence OCP trying to come to some conclusions, by settling everything with Mrs. Murphy, and getting confirmation from Robo himself that he was, legally, no longer Alex Murphy, but simply a machine, their property.

The situation in the reboot could have changed, so now everybody knows about Murphy becoming Robocop, that's if he remains alive, and isn't dead for Omnicorp to decide, he's now their property and do everything in secret.

Thats the one thing that bothered me about the original. There is no way he could of survived getting his arm shot off, then shot dozens of times by multiple people, and THEN shot in the head. He would of been dead from the blood loss of getting his arm shot off by then, not to mention when they open fired on him. I know it was supposed to be over the top, but I just don't think that would work today. I would like a more grounded approach where he is left to die after being shot/beaten to an inch of his life.
Would that scene be nearly as memorable if it went realistic and just put one bullet through Murphy's head? Nope. That scene is so over the top that it sets you up for the crazy gore in the movie perfectly.

Realism should be the last word associated with a movie about a robot police officer.

Yeah sounds like he wont die, i would not be suprised if hes partially human looking (like a robot arm, robot torso, human legs. Only the damaged parts replaced.

I say this really hoping i'm wrong, But the actor playing robo said you will see more of his face.

No one ever said the film is grounded/going for realism seesh.

I dont think they'll fully reveal robo just yet. I think they are gonna keep teasing us like 1998 godzilla.

Then reveal just before they film with the suit outdoors to get there before the fans.

Im curious to see how he gets injured now

I liked the over the top killing of murphy, makes you really feel for him when he returns, yeah its not realistic, but neither is a cyborg cop.
