I'd say Robo is iconic. You show some a picture of him, they will know who it is. Even my grandmother knew who RoboCop was.

The Predator is also iconic. It came out the same year as Robocop and did comparable business.

Ya I guess this is one of those "hard to prove arguments" things that people will say "Nuh uh everyone in the world knows who he is." On these forums...yes. But I don't think a lot of the later generations know nor care about him yet.

But even the Aesthetics for Aliens have changed much compared to the original design.

But I think there is a strong following, and maybe it would be hard to see which is more iconic, Terminator Aliens ect. However, again I don't think his iconicness is to the level of something of most super heroes.

The look of RoboCop and even the Predator is probably as iconic if not more then the look of the Terminator. When people think Terminator, it isn't the robots they think of, it is Arnie.

Yes but it's sequels were stronger, Predator I mean (box office wise) than that of Robo, and video games ect of Predator (usually from AvP games) have been much more loved and made more money than most recent Robo games. (Though I loved Robo vs Terminator on the SNES)

Uhhh no, I think people look at Arnie and they think usually of Terminator, so much so, it's interigrained into who he is. Have you seen all of his political ads? And most of his quotes, and famous iconic appearance, people know and think of the Terminator.

I'd say that's a rare instance where people think of Terminator when they think of Arnie and vice versa.

And both have Arnold's face. It isn't like they think of the robot without the overlay of skin. Arnold is the Terminator and the Terminator is Arnold. So when you here the word you think of his face.

I never said "the robot", when I speak of the Terminator I am talking the Model 101. Not the 800 Endoskeleton underneath.

RoboCop's iconic look involves the visor. When I was little I though Joe Montana was RoboCop.

Ya...I think Arnold has a slightly bigger...household name then Peter Weller.
And what does that have to do with what you were originally saying? I'm not denying the fact that Arnold is a much bigger star or is more popular. Hell, he's been in a lot of classic movies outside of Terminator, along with being the Governor of Cali. Of course he's more known.

The point is that the Terminator/Arnold is much more iconic then Robo...which you were saying was not the case.

The model number just differentiates what they lay over the top. Which apparently somehow ages between the first and second film. There are plenty of different types of Terminators as well.

Yes the Model refers to the skin configuration, they never accounted for age though. :oldrazz: The Series 800 refers to the endoskeleton, 800 ect.

No, I was saying that when people think of Peter Weller, they automatically think of Robocop, just like you were saying with Arnold and Terminator.

And I wouldn't say The Terminator is "mush more iconic", but I will agree that Arnold is much more popular of a star/actor.

Well agree to disagree, because I do think the Terminator is more iconic, T2 was one of the biggest films of the 90's more so then any of the Robo films. But this is probably not the place to go into that.

I know. And the 800 is "the look" of the Terminator.

remember the Terminator vs Robocop comic/game from the early 90s?

i'd give my left nut to at the very least get an animated film based on that and have both Arnold & Weller voice their characters from the live action films

Yeah, I had the comics and the Genesis version of the game.

Has this started filming now, i thought the idea was to start around the 5-6th of September, yet still no set photo's?

It may be the 15th that they start filming. Alternatively they could be starting on interior sets and/or on sound stages.

Looks like Sony has had all the details taken down.

I dont know if they have started the actual filming, but there are a few tweets about Oldman, Keaton, Cornish and MK Williams in Toronto (the latter two tweeted as well). Maybe they are already filming in studio or it's the last preparation before shooting.
