Did you all see this teaser poster yet?

Why does every damn costume have to be black and boring? I really hate modern costume design. It's not a big deal to me anyway, just wanted to comment on the Total Recall of next year.

I SEE SPIDEY I don't care for all the black and gun metal armor looks for these things either. That's why I liked in Avengers everything had that colorful iconic look for the characters. Even Cap had something cloesr to the comics without all the grey and brown in it like First Avenger.

Not saying Robocop needs to look like Iron Man, but his armor just looks a little dull/drab to me. The original armor just has that cool, classic iconic look to it and it's going to be tough to surpass.

Hey it could work. We'll see. But I do see this movie doing comparable business to Total Recall though.

lol you don't change do you?

Why is everyone complaining when we KNOW for a FACT this Robocop changes costumes through-out the film? Will all the hate and over-exaggerated reasons as to why this black mode sucks go right out the window the second everyone sees his social mode and likes it? I mean, come on already.

People complained (myself included) about the Catwoman costume. People complained about Bane's size. People complained about the Joker not having enough green in his hair or that he was wearing make-up. All 3 examples were sold on brilliant performances and characterizations of said people. Robocop is no different. You all seem to forget, it was Peter's PERFORMANCE as a robot cop that sold that suit. Back then we got Robocop the VCR. Now we got Robocop the iPhone. DEAL.

:applaud This, also people complaining about ideas in the movie that have probably not even been filmed yet is ludicrous.

People like to compla....focus on the little things and not on the bigger...more important picture.

kickass, still not crazy about the Catwoman costume. Just because some of those examples worked doesn't mean everything will.

Look this movie is its own thing and they've clearly taken parts in a different direction. I think my main issue though is that it's such a dramatic departure from the original. Like you look at the new ED-209, you still see ED-209 in there.

I can't tell you how excited I am to see this film. I love the original. I saw Dredd last week at TIFF and I really hope it's like that in the sense of it being just as violent and dirty.

See, now why was ED-209 much more accepting? Everyone is yelling Iron Man! or Batman with the Robocop suit, but I look at the new ED-209 and it looks like a Bayformer. It's too busy. Why is that more accepting and praised upon than the new Robocop suit? Especially when we haven't seen his other alt modes yet?

kickass, probably because it still resembles the ED-209 from the original even the color scene is comparable.

The one thing I dont really like about the set pic of the suit is that its textue seems to be matte. Im hoping the final product will be sleek like the teaser pic.

If it was up to me Robocop would have this design. But it would be black like the one that's being used for the new movie.

Here's one without his faceplate.

That's definitely Kinnamen by the way. Just clearing that up as I saw some outlets like /film being confused about this.

The chest on the suit looks very flat as if it's caved in. But I like it though. I like that they totally revamped the suit.

.
but the ones who dont like the swat mode will still not like the swat mode durring the action scenes in the movie. correct or not?so what if they will like the social mode that is grey color? he will look black in the final act.

why is it so hard for others here to accept that some just dont like what they see? where is the universal rule that if you like it aou are right and if you dont you are wrong.

I SEE SPIDEY wrotte ''Why does every damn costume have to be black and boring? I really hate modern costume design.'' . where is she mentioning the one who like the suit? where did she ask people ''how cna you like this suit''. she just wrotte what she thinks and end of story.

Dude, I don't know what movie you watched, but in RoboCop, Lewis saw Murphy getting slaughtered and didn't do **** about it. She was hiding from a perfect spot to shoot the thugs from the side- in fact they show her POV for a few seconds. She was armed, and didn't do anything. She chickened out (understandably- she was outnumbered).

I'm afraid your memory is mistaken. In the original, Lewis is knocked out of the way (and loses her weapon) by one of Clarence's men, gets up and hears a gunshot. She goes running towards the sound (and hears screaming), gets to the end of a passageway (where she's impeded by a heavy fence blocking her access) and sees the group firing their weapons. She runs back to take another way around, and arrives at Murphy's location just after Clarence and the group leaves.

She was actively trying to get to him - there was no "chickening out".

I think the suit will look better in motion in the actual film.

Set pictures tend to show the worst in a lot of these costumes - they look very plasticky.

I'm not so upset about the lack of silver, but then again I'm no huge RoboCop fan - I just kinda like the films.

AFAIC, I will cast a judgement on the suit after seeing Robocop in full SFX. As of right now the suit in the pictures posted above looks too unfinished.
And when we finally see the full suit we will be able to complain about the sound ( especially Robo foot step sound ).

The thing about the original suit for me is that it's something that kinda reflected American automakers in Detroit in the 80's. A bulky, large, beast of a machine.

Given the change in time period, much like the cars, everything about the suit looks more sleek, curved and lightweight.

Then again, I might be getting carried away with this analogy.

^^
It is logical but since it is a remake and that Robocop suit is iconic, the new version should be close to the original, updated but sill close ( like all Superman/Spiderman/Iron/etc man suits, they changed with time but you still recognize them ).
Only the helmet is remaining of the original.

Like I said, I don't need to quote my memory. Just watch:

Pause at 2:25

There's her clear shot. She didn't shoot because she was in shock. Maybe I tossed the term "chickened out" facetiously. I'll give you that. But she definitely had a shot and didn't do anything (who would have?!?!?! I'd be ****ting my pants!!!)

I think it ads to the shock value of the scene. It's an amazing part.

I'm sorry, but no. The 80s design belongs in the 80s, not in the 00s. It's the equivalent of asking for the modern version of the '89 Batsuit for Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. Not gonna happen, nor should it. I don't want modified carbon copies.

SWAT Mode may be receiving comparisons to Dark Knight and Iron Man armor due to the plating but it's quite obvious that the finished product will appear dissimilar in post-production based on the promo material released.
