Showing the face like that (if it is throughout the movie) is a truly stupid idea.

yeah i hope the face ends up looks less human

Odds are it will.

There's no makeup here but in scenes wear Robo is supposed to have his mask off, they will have it.

We will likely get a look at it whenever they shoot the finale.

With my experience in following big special effects films, there's a lot of post production work that goes behind things you would never think of. The smallest details could change to fit the film's story. I'm pretty sure Robocop will look great once we officially see him in action.

So....is the exposed hand part of the look?

I'm starting my 2013 Robocop Remake Halloween Costume savings fund now.

That and I've been saying that is how it's described in the script for weeks.

I mean. Ive read about it but I've never gotten my hands on a copy myself.

I've tried looking all over for the script myself and I've given up trying. So frustrating lol.

But I like the suit. People on IMDb are going ape-sh** over the design and calling for people to boycott this movie and all the usual jazz. So over-the-top and dramatic they are lol.

But I think the presentation and context of the film will help sell the suit more. And of course, the performance.

To be fair, it isn't just IMDb though. It's almost every movie-related site I've visited. Even people on Instagram are crazy upset about the suit and the direction this movie is taking. I just wish people had a more opened mind about these sorts of things. Everyone was upset that Catwoman didn't have her ears in TDKR, but she did, and they displayed it brilliantly.

It's disappointing because even if something is cool and works, it's clouded by a "This sucks" attitude towards the whole picture.

Are they going to CG something around his hand? The exposed hand looks really odd.

I'm really liking the suit. I see a similar aesthetic look, style and feel akin to the sort of androids and robots that are being developed and presented to us today in real life.

Agreed. More people really need to keep an open mind. If this thing does well watch a large majority of the naysayers jump on the bandwagon and kiss it's behind. It's happened before and it'll happen again.

The exposed hand is a product angle in the movie.

It's so people won't get frightened of a half man/half machine comforting them.

Robocop's lending a friendly warm hand to the public. It might not even be a real hand but a synthetic one with heat coursing through it.

The product angle is heavy in this movie.

-Robocop being marketed like an Ipod with all his new models

-Focus groups made up of criminals to see if Robocop frightens them

-Someone shows Pope, head of the OCP project, some mock-ups for Robocop action figures. “Are you kidding? I wouldn’t buy that for a dollar!”

-He goes to China for training.

is this an actual shot, and not a manip?... the right arm seems to have a darker shade of black than the rest of the suit, or at least a different hue of black...

This is an actual pic. It's just the lighting and shadows making it look darker

That's just the lightning or rather lack of light when someone took that picture.

Personally I'm only a fan of the first RoboCop movie. the sequels all suck imo.

Which is why I hope this movie will revive the concept for me and be the second good RoboCop movie. :)
I am with you here. I like the first movie quite a bit, although I'm not a crazy fan. Aesthetically it's hard to beat the original suit and such, but I don't rate the sequels highly at all. I'm taking a 'wait and see' approach with this movie, but there's every chance it'll be alright and better than two of them at least.
