As a lifetime, diehard Robocop fan I completely understand everyone's issues with this reboot. I realize I'm in the minority in my excitement, although cautious, about the project. However the cast is amazing and I'm excited to see this new vision of Robocop. Good or bad it will reignite the public awareness about the character and story of Robocop. If this film is terrible people will at least seek out the first groundbreaking film, again or for the first time, especially for the younger generations that didn't get to experience the greatness of it, however topical or much a product of it's time. The satire resonates still. That said the more I see of this new armor the more excited I am. I think that it looks pretty amazing and is much more in line with a vision of future cybernetics in 2013 as the first was in 1987 before the internet, Facebook, cellphones, iPad, etc. There is a lot of fine detail in the suit and maintaining a monocrhomatic color scheme while giving the suit visual interest in mixing matte and gloss finishes to imply different types of material in use is very cool I think. Also the retractable all glass visor is functional and echoes the prolific use of glass in our various touchscreen devices. Plus it just looks cool. The red LED visor light also harkens back to the original Robocop design by bringing it forward into future a bit more. If the film turns out to be a new and fresh take and is well crafted I will be completely happy to have two iterations of one of my all-time favorite sci-fi/superhero characters. I hope everyone is able to give it an honest chance. I'm pretty excited by the prospect and can't wait until next year.[/quote]
