Dredd was a low budgeted Rated R cult hit. Sure it didn't make money at the BO but on DVD and VOD it was big. It was a DYI PUnk as you can get with a movie.

Thats the one...Dredd from last year...No one cares about the Sly Stallone film anymore

The suit looks strange proportionally. His pecs slope inward, while his stomach area slopes outward. And it's not like he has a beer belly or anything, it's just the way the suit is designed that makes it look odd.

I still think the hand is lame. Want to show the audience there still exists a human part of him? How about showing that through actual character growth.

Not the audience... the citizens of Detroit.

It is so the city of Detroit will accept him easier as an officer.

I find Judge Dredd a good film and comedic. Not the best adaption but also not a pile of **** people make it out to be.
Dredd is just awesome.

The original Dredd with Stallone was schlock, but it was fun schlock.

Had Judge Dredd not been wrapped in the dressing of Judge Dredd with Stallone but a futuristic post-apocaplytic society dealing with crime it would've been a much better movie. Instead they half-assed both of those aspects and neither came out ahead.

Funny you guys mention dredd cause the first time I saw that I felt "man I wish these filmmakers did a new robocop" man, I usually don't jump the gun so early on a movie but it's robocop so I feel different.

Remake of a popular R-Rated Paul Verhoeven movie that takes out all the bite from the original by making it PG-13. Probably will make the same amount too ie. not much.

I have grown tired of seeing people bash Stallone's Dredd some of us actually liked it as well as Urban's equally. I don't know if this new Robo will give me the same effect but main thing is I really want it to be good, I never understood people without even seeing footage hoping that a film is bad, sounds like an all around negative mindset to me.

I found Dredd to be completely bland and Judge Dredd to be immensely entertaining.

I hear you. I saw Dredd, wasnt impressed. After you "get" the conceit that they are gonna use the drug to do slow motion death scenes then that's the movie.

Dredd was great, but not the masterpiece people made it out to be.

As a Judge Dredd fan, I can say that it was DEFINITELY a step in the right direction, tonally, but it had almost as many hiccups as the Stallone film did. In fact, the things Dredd succeeded in, Judge Dredd didn't. And the things Judge Dredd succeeded in, Dredd didn't.

Specifically, Judge Dredd got the visuals right, but not the tone and characters. Dredd got the tone and characters right, but not the visuals, opting for a really grounded world, than the very scifi , almost over the top one from the comics (and the Stallone movie).

i dont think anyone made Dredd a masterpiece. people had extreme low expectations and when they saw the movie they were suprised that it was not a hollywood mess. its a decent action movie with a low budget and good visuals. casting is also good.

I really enjoyed Dredd, but it was way too self-contained, it felt like a two hour long third act of a larger movie to me.
