That's a good question. Wasn't the spike in his right hand in the original films?

i think the right hand is still robotic. they just added fake skin on top for the public. i dont think there is blood under the skin.

no company would be that stupid hahaha

I seem to remember from the leaked script that Robo is now permanently linked into all the computer/CCTV systems in Detroit so there is no need for the spike in the remake

I thought it was revealed that they kept the entire human hand for legal purposes. Drones are illegal to use on domestic soil so OCP kept the human hand so that "technically" it is a human firing the gun.

what is the f... point of a robot when the most important part of the body the HAND is living tissue with bones?

how can he fight a big robot? he would grab him with his two hands. a robot hand and a normal human hand? this is a million dollar robot that is on the right side weak like a normal human.

the story needs to be a masterpiece for this to work in the movie.

It's also kind of silly... I mean, if they can make an indestructible robot hand that looks THAT much like a human one, then why wouldn't they just make his entire body look like that? That way, criminals would have no idea that Robocop was robotic?

I would imagine that omnicorp still wanted him to look robotic to put the fear of god into ppl when they see him. But still seen human to kids and to other cops.

It's almost like cop cars to me. Why still have lights and decals on the side. Why not just have all undercover cop cars and cops in civilian clothes?

It's a snake move to do that and would be kind of wrong IMO. I don't like the exposed hand dont get me wrong. I just don't find it a big deal. It's just kind of there nothing I can do or say will change it. Maybe the film can do a good job of showing us what they want to do with the hand. I know I should just know everything about a movie from set photos like everyone else but for me I need to see this thing in action to judge the damn hand.

I hopelessly keep coming back to this thread hoping that a trailer has been released, or that the Comic Con footage has leaked.. :csad:

<~~whistling winds and tumbleweed rolling past...

You're not the only one Van Petrol

i feel like they're waiting till the dust settles for all the big summer blockbusters before they release any footage or trailers.

but it feels like this movie has an uphill battle since the original is so iconic and hard to beat. new robocop is like the little engine that could.

on a related topic, have anyone picked up the new robocop last stand comic?
it's suppose to be based off frank miller's original script for robocop 3.
i've read the 1st issue, there's suppose to be 7 more.
it feels like a darker more serious version of the robocop 3 movie so far.

Yep. I seriously doubt Columbia Pictures and MGM will spend much prompting the film. It has a $100 - 120 million production budget. This film got pushed back to February, a month that is not known for having blockbuster films. I doubt there will be much spend on prompting this film. We'll probably get the same level of adversiting that a film like "Predators" got in 2010 - two basic trailers, a few production stills, a standard poster or two and a few commericals. The basic package which probably will not roll out until the fall or so.

MGM is probably banking on this movie being a sleeper hit. Minimal advertising with HUGE payoff expectation

120 million budget

170 million return

MGM- We made a profit!

The movie is forgotten a week later.

It probably won't happen.

The movie needs serious buildup

PG-13 is the worst thing they can do to this movie...I can live with the fleshy, vulnerable hand...but not a PG-13 rating.

You want to watch a 'Rated R' Robocop movie? Go watch the original.

That simple.

People really need to stop crying and complaining about movies not being R rated. Honestly it's getting as bad as the reboot and remake complaints

The PG-13 rating is the least of my concerns for this movie

Pretty much. Plus PG-13 can be pushed pretty far nowadays.

People act as if we're still in the 90's early 00's of the PG-13 era.

Did they just see wolverine ? That movie is rated r idc what anyone says.

You just have to let your balls show a push the PG-13 rating it can be done and has.

I'm honestly so tired of seeing people complain about the pg-13 rating, did people actually expect an R rating?

Have people not seen MOS and The Wolverine? Those are just two recent examples of how far the PG-13 bar can be taken.

Personally I can't stand how so many film makers utilize either ratings for genre films. Just because you CAN use one f-bomb in a Pg-13 movie doesn't mean you should. It becomes glaringly obvious and takes you out of the movie. And with R-rated movies you don't have to go full tilt bats**t crazy with profanity and blood splatter everywhere. It's like some of these guys go "ok lets go overboard with gratuitous language/cartoony violence so people KNOW it's rated R." I hate it when a movie is self aware unless it's made specifically with that theme in mind.

its a funny picture. you smile and move on. noone is complaining.
