its a funny picture. you smile and move on. noone is complaining.
Regardless of whether you would have posted that or not people have been complaining about that consistently. It's not as if that's the first instance of it being mentioned.

It's been brought up several times here and countless time in other comment sections from other sites.

I wish people could move on about the PG-13 rating too.

They can't. Gore violence and drugs were so much of the story to robocop that the whole man turned machine part of the film isn't there.

Robocop is not a story about ownership of ones life but a story of coicane and blood.

Robocop without drugs sex and violence is just a story about a cop.... Who cares..

This is all I say when it comes to robocop the remake and to me it is childish. The story of robocop is not that of just an r rating. It is a very nice story that can be told IMO hundreds of times over and over again. The more we fall into this lifestyle of reliance on computers and technology.

I take it that English isn't your first language is it? Thanks for trying though :-)

The original Robocop is an anti-yuppie, ultra violent satire piece with a Christ-like subplot. The violence is meant to be abhorrent, yet cartoony and accessible.

The leaked script strips away this satirical veneer for a more Michael Moore-ish (sorry) finger-pointing dynamic that lacks the charm, nostalgia and wit of the original screenplay.

I worry that when the old "ultra violence" (misquote) is removed for the sake of a PG13 rating that we will be left with nothing but another mediocre reboot shell.

I'm on my iphone. Nice try at a joke though... ;)

And the only reason the original had the "ultra violence" was PV loves gore.

I'm pretty sure I remember him saying the whole satire and all that junk happened by accident. He just loves gore nothing more then mindless violence.

What ? No....Robocop's crazy violence is a finger pointed towards to what the movie is actually satirizing.

No offence meant my American chum :yay:

I was stuck in Paris and somewhat under the influence of beer on that night! i guess we willl just agree to differ!

As for the violence in the original flick, yes it was shocking and OTT. Yet the tie in novel based on the original screenplay was also very violent. Some of the resultant satire in the violence may be unintentional, however I can't see how scripted verbal pieces such as "Media Break" and the commercials could be anything but intentional satire.

However my greatest fear is that this remake will be bland, not awful, merely OK. I'm really tired of this current trend of average blockbusters. I love the character of Robocop and I would love to see a new franchise up on the big screen. I just hope that they get this one right...

It's cool no harm no foul lol

But I wish the same thing I main fear is the film will be ok I will not hate it but not love it and with that cast that would be the biggest fear.

I keep praying to Korean Jesus for the best.

Hasnt it been said that all they save in the reboot is his brain, so he'd have no organs to spill

I almost want to envoke Poe's Law here. Almost.

I truly hope when the trailer is released it's badass and impressive to shut up all the naysayers. I really want this film to be good the talent is there and they all seem to really understand the themes behind the story and the characters.

From what I recall, it's pretty much just his [blackout]face, brain, right arm and hand, lungs and heart[/blackout]. So yeah, that is pretty inaccurate. Then you have to consider he's probably got greater speed and agility than old Robo, so he'll be a hard target to get a lock-on too. :D

I'm pretty sure the human hand is fake as it was stated (probably accidentally) that [BLACKOUT]“He’s amputated from the throat down"[/BLACKOUT]

That would be [blackout]decapitated[/blackout] then since [blackout]amputation is mainly for anything short of your entire body[/blackout]. /pedantic

And now it's ventured into Poe's Law territory for certain.:o

So..... anyone else disappointed that the trailer wasn't with Elysium?

Well now that is confirmed I guess I'll wait to Elysium hits blu ray before renting it...

It's real.

but IIRC, you're right. Most of his old body is missing. They just put his old hand there so people think or believe its mostly a robotic suit.

Actually, [BLACKOUT]All of Murphy's body is gone save for some organs, his head, and his "hand". The hand is later revealed to be robotic; only put there to add to the "human" quality of Robocop. [/BLACKOUT]
