No, he does not.
Jack Lewis doesn't die.
I do recall a long time ago watching an episode of that show, it was horrible.
Depressing that Prime Directives came from the guys of the original film![]()
The biggest issue is that the filmmakers completely missed the point of the original film. The original RoboCop was a satire on 80's consumerism, corporate greed, drug abuse, gang violence, privatization of law enforcement, military-industrial complex, and the arms race. It parodied the non-stop action movies of the 1980s by going over the top with cartoon level ultra-violence. Making a serious action film with a PG-13 rating shows a complete lack of understanding of the original concept.
Why can't this version also have satirical elements in a current modern context?
It's not that it can't but does it? Judging from the first trailer there's not much hint of that.
Frankly what's helped Robocop age as well as it has is not the special fx or action but the social commentary and satire.

i thought robocable meant robocop on cable tv.It was part of the Prime Directives show(it used to be up on Netflix. It may still be up?). But it was a guy named John Cable who was partners with Murphy. Robocop killed Cable for some reason(I think he was hacked), and then Cable was resurrected just like Murphy in a Robo suit. He then wanted to destroy Robocop, but then decided to team up with him in the end.
It was pretty lame.![]()
t:robocop was first written as a movie. it started out as a movie. a lot of robocop fans dont even like the second movie. the first sequel. so there is no history with the robocop character. over 50% like only the first movie so he is the only true character.Just curious i any of the people who are angry about the changes to Robocop were also angry about the changes made to Superman for Man of Steel. I heard a whole lot of "there's no such thing as a definitive take on a character" and "it's fine to change what the character is for modern times" etc for Man of Steel...while I argued that there are certain things that should be in the DNA of the concept. I have never seen a Robocop movie, so I don't have that connection that some have to it, so I can't be a good judge on what "must" be in a Robocop film.
