I'm digging both suits right now. I wasn't sure after just seeing the set pics, but the shots in the trailer look great.

Robocop Standee. It's hard to see, but he is separate from the motorcycle/background

Awesome! They need one of those in every theater this film needs more marketing pronto!

Yeah I'm seeing SOME printed ads but nothing on the tv yet

It gives me such a warm feeling to see Michael Keatons name on a theater standee again.

Yeah we haven't seen a lot of him in awhile

I'm thinking that filmmakers probably realize the silver suit is better, and the change to the "black suit" is part of the film's satire, and was done on purpose. Keaton's character even has a line to that effect in the first trailer.

At this point I have had to come to that realization myself, and am hopeful at the end of the film we'll see the silver suit again.

Think of how many fans would of possibly been behind this movie if the first reveal was of that beautiful silver suit in all its glory, it's possible all the negative feedback could've been reduced.

Yeah I'm sure the Black is more like Dress Black or Blue for the police forces anyway.

Having a really an aesthetically unpleasant suit for most of the film for satire's sake sounds like utter contempt for the audience.

That assumes that the suit will be seen for most of the film.

It's pretty much agreed upon by most that the silver looks better. Padilha got it backward. It should have been Black->Silver, not Silver->Black

I really wish the rumors were true that when Robocop is patroling the streets he's the classic colors.

When he does missions he changes to "stealth mode"

I did hear a rumor that he could go back to base and switch out parts, entire bodies even. Maybe that's how they could pull it off.

I saw a shot from this film on the cover of a magazine yesterday (sadly, I don't remember what it was) and it showed Robo in the silver suit. However, his visor was different than it looks in the trailers. It was wider and you could see his eyes. So I guess he wears three suits in the movie?

Ya, I seen it too, think it was GEEK magazine or something like that? It seemed the jaw piece of the helmet seems wider than the head unit w/being able to see the eyes through the visor.
I'm not sure how they are going to do the suit changes, maybe as he progresses roles within the city/police, he changes they way he is perceived by changing suits??

I wonder what the final version will be. So many changes in film.

Yeah they did confirm that quite a while ago, I think its kinda cool I just hope his main suit is the silver one, wishful thinking.

If we are lucky the silver with see through visor one is the beginning... black the middle and silver the end.

I think that transparent visor is just so that Joel can see while he's walking around. It's removed in post-production. It isn't a different suit. All the other details match up.

Otherwise he wouldnt be able to see a damn thing with such a thin visor.

I really do think this movie is going to surprise the naysayers. I really do.

What's important is either way, the original Robocop is getting a remastered Blu-ray.
