RoboCop Reboot - Part 4

I like some of his lines, but I was never that impressed with Boddicker as a villain. The best part of his character in ROBOCOP is his death. I was never big on any of Robocop's villains, come to think of it.

AFAIC, the real villains of Robocop were the mega corporations, namely OCP.

That makes in a bizarre twist, a revelation about now. Corporations are as big a threat to people as criminals are.

Indeed and the fake advertising(s?) are even more true now-days.
Sun Block 2000 ...hight risk of skin cancer.

Found this randomly. Not sure if it's official or fan-made, but it's a pretty cool pic.

Boddicker's a classic example of the villain who knows perfectly well he's evil, and relishes every moment of it. The only time he shows genuine fear is when Murphy has him by the neck in the drug warehouse.

I agree. And usually that s*** is so corny, but in context of the film, it fits superbly. Kurtwood Smith did a fine job.

Ugh, then I become reminded of the two crappy sequels, the television show, both cartoons, and...

...

...the Prime Directives.

:down

Both of you need to be IP banned for that blasphemy.

:o

The guy who played Cain was on Hell on Wheels and The Blacklist recently. He can play an excellent psycho. He was creepy as hell on both shows.

Wow, I totally didnt realize that that was Cain in HoW and the Blacklist:eek:

Boddicker is not that different from some real-life gang leaders that I've read/heard about. They're pretty sadistic and crazy, so he's not that out there in that regard.

exactly, that's why he scared the **** out of me and my friends who saw robocop as kids. he feels like a real slimy bastard.

Hmm looks like they've changed his voice, loved it the other way.

Ehhh these effing remakes. So anyway, in the new trailer Robocop looks very light. When we see his leg step out of some van on to the stair, the van makes no movement. So either the suspension is really good in it or they managed to make Robo really light despite all the metal. Perhaps all this is explained in the movie..

Just so we have one on the page:

Best trailer yet, I say. I hope the voice has the robotic twang of the first trailer, though.

Still not sure about this the first one was a classic RoboCop 2 was good too and then it went down hill.
I'll give it a chance though and they do have an impressive cast though I haven't seen anything of the leading guy so not sure how he'll do.

I've said this many times, and it bears repeating: I always liked the concept of RoboCop, more than the actual films and TV shows. I was almost 7 years old when the original first came out, and didn't see the uncensored cut for at least ten more years. To this day, its one of the most exploitative films claiming to critique its own content I've ever heard of. I was actually shocked for a brief moment, to learn the original was submitted no less than eleven times to the MPAA...and it still fries my brain.

I've seen almost every version of the story now except this new one, and my favorite remains the short-lived 1990s TV show on the Sci-Fi Channel, with Richard Eden. It takes much more talent and dedication to tell a story like this, without relying on tons of gore, nudity, or language; I seriously wanted to pour liquid dish soap down that foul-mouthed kid's throat in the second film. This new version seems to be aiming for a PG-13 audience, which I definitely approve of; I just hope it doesn't mean they lowered the quality of the story.

He also played Dollarhyde in the film Manhunter(the role Ralph Fiennes played in Red Dragon) and the axe guy Ripper in Last Action Hero. :awesome:

I love the international trailer but I really don't like how they changed Murphy's voice I hope that's not a permanent decision.
