Some good thoughts:
Surprise, surprise – the RoboCop reboot is a lot better than reboots have a right to be.
...as much as I would love to say "nothing beats the original", I have admit that it isn't that far away from being comparable to the original.
it remains fairly satisfying
It definitely surpassed my expectations.
The answer is, IT IS A VERY GOOD REMAKE.
It won’t be easy for die-hard fans of the original to warm up to this remake, but Padilha’s RoboCop is a surprisingly solid outing.
But overall, the good far outweight the bad.
a surprisingly pleasing remake.
the end result was surprisingly decent.
Some bad thoughts:
doesn't reach its true dramatic and thematic potential.
Kinnaman and Abbie Cornish have next to no chemistry
The biggest weakness in this ROBOCOP reboot is Joshua Zetumer's captivating but bloated screenplay.
Just so we’re clear, it doesn’t trump Paul Verhoeven’s beloved original.
hardly a masterpiece
A minor disappointment is the absence of the cool/high-impact lines that made Weller’s original so memorable;
Unfortunately, Joshua Zetumer's screenplay feels mostly bloated.
I never thought I would say this... but Sam Jackson was the least enjoyable part of the movie for me
