Superman Returns Suit, Muscle.. is Brandon the problem?

^Not possible, Routh is in better shape...............

I said POST Pics of reeve when hes routhesage cause like reev did, routhe will get bigger as he gets older.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Routh's size and I love the new Superman suit, it's my favorite.

REally? Care to post some photos illustrating all these "bad" pounds that Reeve was carrying around? Because not only did he have some good size, but his chisled face and well defined neck area definitely gives the appearance of "cut", certainly moreso than Routh and his cherubic face.

I havent seen any pictures of Reeve where he has been anything but what many fans describe as Superman: Large size, muscular, not overly ripped.

Not to backpedal or sound like I think you're right, but I did see a photo of Reeve on HERE of all places with no shirt during filming of the first film and he was soft. The suit just smoothed out the lines a little. It gives almost the same effect when a pudgy football player wears Under Armour. If someone can remember where that picture is, please post it. Otherwise, I'll have to dig myself (which considering my lack of computer skill, will take a while).

In all fairness....Routh deserves the chance to prove himself as Supes in the upcoming film. He may very well pull it off. I am willing to give him that chance, I'll be in line for the movie next summer. BUT,...and it's (as Pee Wee said) a Big "BUT", the photos released so far are quite underwhelming and of great concern. The suit really bites and Routh's physique is questionable. The combination is not encouraging so far. I WANT to like this movie and have been anticipating a new Superman film for many moons, but I'm disappointed by what I've seen so far.
thanks. that's my feeling exactly. he is the new superman and i want to embrace him right away like i did when he was first announced as superman. but i just can't after seeing all those pics... just not yet...

the "it" their speaking of SHOULD be the actors ability to portray the character, not their look.
well, 'it' isn't very much about the acting ability. simply put, the "it" is the hero charm. you can sense 'it' in some people, even though they are normal men or some bad guys.

Look here. Not to blaspheme against Reeve as he is my messiah, but Physically Routh has a better body and more vascularity than Reeve did. Notice that Reeve has no pectoral separation and his deltoids have zero definition. He looked damn good in costume, but he couldn't even finish in the top five of a regional bodybuilding show in Idaho. Just guessing his body fat is at least around 15% which is hardly close to the eight or less Routh is likely carrying. This is not me in anyway saying Routh is the superior Superman, because we've seen nothing to the contrary, but he is superior physically. If I would've been in charge of Reeve's program, he wouldn't have been allowed to eat "anything he wants" like he was quoted in the making of documentary that was released around the time the first film debuted. During that doc they showed Reeve's early training BEFORE the bad diet set in and he was shredded (even though he only weighed about 200 pounds at the time. With the current training technologies and dietary practices Reeve would've given even that roid-pumper O'Hearn a solid run for his money. Reeve was barrel-chested, and that's why Alex Ross paints him that way. :supes:

bring your built or not discussion to the other appropriate thread. here is the "it" factor discussion.

you can see "it" crystal clear.

routhsup6fw.jpg

but you can hardly see "it" here.

Then it would be more fair to show 'it' from S:TM then S2 and 3 now wouldn't it?

superman 3 or 4.

is it just me or is there a HUGE differnece? notice how reeve was "small" i nthe first film comparedto him in the latter movies. same will happen with routh.

obvi, he looks like superman,. but so does routh. just a different kinda superman, a younger, more youthful superman. routh could be superman for 15 years.

if you dont see superman, i think you should check your eyes.
just because hes not a carbon copy of reeve-which is what you seem to want, no matter what you say(saying he doesnt look like reev did in his pics proves that theory) doesnt mean hell be bad.

another point-reeve was a classic superman, a clone of the comics, one in a trillion. i think routh is the best we can get for now. he has the modern age heart throb type of thign going on while possessing the look of the classic man of steel. who else would want? name a name. no. ryan mcpartlin, or ryan kwanten, ok, but they couldnt act.

wtf, don't put words into my mouth. who said i want a reeve replica.
i just said i failed to see "it" in him. he has not shown "it" to me. that's it.

im not putting **** in your mouth. im telling you your argument makes no sense. he doesnt "it"-what does **** is it and who else has it?

"it" basically is the 'hero/leader/in authority/power charm.

for an example, Clive Owen has 'it' and he doesn't look like reeve a bit.

well they wont hve a ****ing clue if he has it till we see him on the big screen then.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that whoever you wanted to play Superman in SR is who you are going to think has "it" ...if you don't think Routh has it now and you don't want him in the movie you most likely won't see "it" in him even during the movie..from the pics I hace seen of him I think Routh has "it". :supes:

to me in pictures routh looks like he doesnt have "it" but i wont say for sure until i see the movie...but going into it knowing i dont see "it" is a big disadvantage for him for me
but like i sed that could change when i see it

This pic, regardless of little nitpicking is what really soldifies a decent looking Superman for this new era

Supes_005.jpg

Looks GREAT to me.

maybe its the fact that routh has an incredibly long abdomen for superman but his upper body just dont look right..... could be the small s too i dunno

sorry, your theory doesn't apply to me. i was one of his supporters. and i don't anti - him. however, most of his superman pics that we saw dont look good to me. he doesn't show the 'superman quality' in those. that's all.

Jeez, these are the dumbest threads, yet they keep popping up.

Yes, C.Reeve......that's the 'it' you ARE referring to correct? (because according to 'real' Superman fans, no one else has/will come close)

Should that be the case, allow me to let you in on a little secret....Hindsight is always 20/20.

No the "it" factor were talking about is not just with Chris Reeve... Ohearn has it, Welling has it, Matthew Boomer has it... Routh just doesnt...

Who ever says that he was just carrying around "bad" pounds just simply doesn't know a single thing about anything...

There is no question that Routh is more cut then Reeve was but Reeve still was bigger overall, and his body size was just right for the role.
But the most important part which made him look like Superman was the fact that he didn't look like a teenager... Routh still looks like a kid.
This is a major issue against Routh.

 agreed, and if when the movie comes out, and I watch it, and I it's good I will personally come on here, and say sorry for anything negative thing I have said about Routh, and or the movie... But til then he just doesn't look the part to me, and we have a while to go until I am proven wrong.
