I'm not sure that I'd want Black Panther to already exist in the MCU (unless it's T'Chaka). T'Challa has an interesting backstory and I kind of want to actually SEE his origins play out on film.

lol marvel must seriously scare their actors because they can hardly talk about what's going on.

I am really excited for them tho they are both good actors and I hope they fit in perfectly

I forget, have they Easter Egged Wakanda at any point in the films or even AOS?

^^ Yes theres a SHIELD globe map showing Africa in Iron Man 2 that has a signal over a spot which is Wakanda.

yeah people thought the red circle in africa is wakanda in iron man 2

It was seen as a "hot spot" on a map in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Base in Iron Man 2. In the commentary, Jon Favreau noted Wakanda specifically as one of the locations Fury was looking at.

Wonder if ATJ was gonna say, 'it's funny cos we're not doing eastern european accents'?

Or maybe they've tried out a variety of accents or something.

Sounds like he did a terrible one and they have to reshoot

Nah, I think the reshoot thing was just trying to cover their tracks and hide anything they might have let slip. I don't think wasting weeks of filming in italy with all the set and effects and stuff would be funny.

It sounded more like it's funny you say how are our eastern european accents cos we're not doing them. Maybe they were bad in practice but I doubt they would have filmed a bunch of stuff without hearing their accents.

or they were recalling a funny moment they shot where his accent was off that they have to reshoot?

possibly, sad that they really fear saying literally anything apart from working for marvel and joss is really good

Pietro (Borat style accent): 'Ello Meesa 'Awkeye! I am Pietro-uh-Maximoff, deez eez my seester uh-Vanda! You uh-No touch!

Wanda: 'Ello dare to you uh-Meesa 'Awkeye today!

CUT!

Could be he was gonna say they got together and realise their accents sounded nothing alike, I mean saying eastern european is pretty damn vague.

I really hope Hank Pym eventually joins the Avengers even if he's mostly just a science guy. He has all this history with them in the comics and to completely write that out would be extremely disappointing. I'm still a little bummed that they made Hank so much older and it's really only the fact that he's being portrayed by Michael Douglas that's keeping me interested. Janet definitely needs to be an Avenger and Hank Pym would be a good way to bring her into the team.

Jan doesn't need Hank or Scott to be an Avenger. in the cartoons and books, she was the one more devoted to the team. Pym took several breaks. one might say that being an Avenger was bad for his health. Jan's the action junkie. but, if Pym is as 'machiavellian' as wright described, she might join the team to keep tabs on them; for her father.

I hope they don't go that route, it just seems really lazy. I don't really like the idea of Hank Pym being a father he's not father material. A much easier route would be to have her be Hank's assistant and the daughter of his close friend who he sort of looks after following her father's death. They can drop the romantic angle obviously, their relationship was weird enough in the comics as is.

I'm not sure what any of that means. Hank was a father figure to Jan, in the comics. it just developed into a romance. he also played father figure to the Avengers Academy kids. and he's the surrogate father of William Nelson; through Tigra. plus, him not being "father material" could be a potential plot point. it would mirror Douglas' own life. it'd explain why Jan joins the Avengers w/o Hank. it mirrors Scott and Cassie's situation. but, personally, I'm hopeful that Janet is still the daughter of Vernon Van Dyne; Pym's colleague. it would make sense for him to look after her after Vernon's death. in the books, the latter dies shortly after coming to Pym for help.

Hmm, sounds more like Jar Jar than Borat.

^^ Yeah the Meesa is def Jar Jar, haha

More ATJ on playing Quicksilver:

"Just before I started Godzilla I met Joss," he explained. "He said to me, 'Do you want to be in Avengers 2? There is a super hero I’m thinking of for you.' The thing for me was for him, 'Why add any more super heroes to this thing?' He said, 'No, there are these two characters that I want to bring in to like **** with the Avengers and not be just an add on.' He told me a little bit about the writing and I said that the only reason I would want to do it is if it is a character that can still stand out."

"You know, you’ve got five of the most awesome super heroes, ten I suppose, there are about ten Avengers now, and they are all movie stars," Taylor-Johnson continued. "You’ve got such a huge cast, what the hell difference is it going to make if I come on the scene? So it was the character and that took about a year of going back and forth about it. It took a while but I’m super happy to be in that one." (via Iamrogue.com)

Wait, ten?

Original 6, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and... ???

With so many characters, I am kinda worried about how joss could make it work.

Not doubting joss's ability at all. Just a bit wee bit skeptical as they are really so many of them.

He also said 5... I wouldn't look too much into that comment

Maybe he didn't notice Hawkeye. :wow:

So the Original 6 + The Twins + Vision = 9. There are rumors War Machine so that would be 10.

SLJ said Fury was a cameo in this one and I wouldn't count Hill as an Avenger and w/o Shield her role might be even smaller (I hope). Falcon if he is in it would also be a cameo.

The first film had 6 Avengers, Fury, Coulson, Hill, Selvig + a Pepper cameo and of course JARVIS.

Im not really that worried. Gathering from interviews and such, it seemed he put them there beacuse he wanted them, not because they were imposed to him by the studio, and he is a specialist on choral storytelling, and a veteran at it. Im hoping he knows what he is doing.

Just thinking of how amazing itll be to see all The Avengers facing off together against Ultron.
