Maybe he didn't notice Hawkeye. :wow:

So the Original 6 + The Twins + Vision = 9. There are rumors War Machine so that would be 10.

SLJ said Fury was a cameo in this one and I wouldn't count Hill as an Avenger and w/o Shield her role might be even smaller (I hope). Falcon if he is in it would also be a cameo.

The first film had 6 Avengers, Fury, Coulson, Hill, Selvig + a Pepper cameo and of course JARVIS.

Fury shouldn't ever count as an Avenger. He might count as support, but he's not a superhero.

If ATJ is even remotely accurate about there being 10, then heavy odds on Falcon or War Machine. (One thing we can be 110% sure of: "the tenth Avenger" is the token black guy. :oldrazz: Dunno why we can't have both, though --- Sam *and* Rhodey. Especially considering that both are ACTUAL Avengers from the comics.)

Probably can't have both just because of character overload. I imagine the film is gonna need to be rather lengthy as it is just to give everyone something to do.

I feel bad for Anthony Mackie. He's dying to be in the movie and would say yes in a heartbeat, but probably won't get the call and ATJ was all like "maaan Avengers? I don't know. The character is cool I guess. Okay maybe i'll do it." It just sort of seems like ATJ is not really that excited to be in the movie at all.

Oh really? :csad: Hadn't heard that.

I love when the guys are enthusiastic ...just give Mackie a couple of mins for the hell of it. :woot:

Look at War Machine. Until the OLDER Avengers are all brought into the Group, I doubt alot of the secondary Friends of the PRIME group will be in the Avengers.
I would LOVE Rick Jones as an Avengers side kick, like Bucky and Falcon to Cap, War Machine to Iron Man and so on.

Mackie seems excited about everything he's in. It's why he's so likable and charismatic.

if it's a choice between Mackie or Cheadle, i go with Mackie. War Machine has always seemed like an odd fit on an Avengers team; movie-War Machine moreso since he's kind of a government tool. for their new privatized-security role, i'd eagerly root for Falcon getting the call. he wasn't forced into any of this. he volunteered.

I think we need a Secret Avengers movie.

These guys don't even need to be on the team to appear. Any cameo would be appreciated and it can easily fit with the plot when an ultra villain is carrying out attacks at multiple venues. And if someone like Mackie is ultra-keen it shouldn't be too expensive.

Jan doesn't need Hank or Scott to be an Avenger. in the cartoons and books, she was the one more devoted to the team. Pym took several breaks. one might say that being an Avenger was bad for his health. Jan's the action junkie. but, if Pym is as 'machiavellian' as wright described, she might join the team to keep tabs on them; for her father..
Yeah but I'd still really want to see Pym on the team at least once. Given that he was a founding member I think he deserves at least a small Avengers role. Also I don't remember Wright describing Hank Pym himself as Machiavellian but rather the relationship Scott Lang has with him. I could be interpreting that wrong.
I'm not sure what any of that means. Hank was a father figure to Jan, in the comics. it just developed into a romance. he also played father figure to the Avengers Academy kids. and he's the surrogate father of William Nelson; through Tigra. plus, him not being "father material" could be a potential plot point. it would mirror Douglas' own life. it'd explain why Jan joins the Avengers w/o Hank. it mirrors Scott and Cassie's situation. but, personally, I'm hopeful that Janet is still the daughter of Vernon Van Dyne; Pym's colleague. it would make sense for him to look after her after Vernon's death. in the books, the latter dies shortly after coming to Pym for help.
Sorry I meant I didn't like the idea of Hank Pym being an actual father, it just doesn't feel right, I like the idea of him being this lonely scientist for a while, if that makes any sense,]. I'm not sure about this but in the comics doesn't he have this weird thing about wanting to be a father and that was the whole reason for making Ultron?

If he is her father however, as you said, being a father would give Hank Pym a whole new way to completely screw up.

it makes sense. and i fully agree. i want him to seek out isolation after the death of his wife; Maria.

Here's a bunch of quotes from him:
"Chris [Evans] is a good friend of mine. The movie starts in three weeks,” the actor, whose character debuts April 4 in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, told MovieWeb. “I know he’s read the script. He’s like, ‘Yo, man, I read the Avengers script. It’s good.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ He said, ‘Yeah, Joss is doing rewrites, but it’s good. I was like, ‘Great! So … am I in it?’ And he says, ‘I’ve got to go. I’ll be back.’ What do you mean? Why can’t you just tell me if I’m in the movie? No one will tell me, not one person, so I gave up on it.”

"No, but I’ve been stalking him in London and harassing him and sending him emails. I’m ready for it. I mean, I’ve only met Joss twice now and I’ve made it very clear to him that whatever capacity he wants to use the Falcon, I’m there."

“I'm like, 'So have y'all decided if I'm in Avengers 2 yet? I'll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow!"

"If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there’s no way I would complain or balk at any part of that."

Aaawwww!! Mackie really wants to be in it!
He was great in Cap2, and if he were given the kind of humor Joss puts in Avengers, he would kill it with Falcon!! Besides, Falcon is a great character!!

If it's anyone it's War Machine. He's already confirmed to be in the movie.

War Machine ain't joining The Avengers. Hated when people started adding him to the roster. It's a global film, all connected to Tony... Heck I wouldn't be surprised if Bucky, Jane (maybe Asgard) and Betty jump in too. We just haven't heard from them yet.

Tony has the best supporting cast IMO. Wouldn't mind a Happy cameo.

War Machine is kinda confirmed if I remember correctly by many people including don cheadle. And I am actually curious since he is very connected with government. I wonder what's his role will be

yeah people thought the red circle in africa is wakanda in iron man 2

It was seen as a "hot spot" on a map in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Base in Iron Man 2. In the commentary, Jon Favreau noted Wakanda specifically as one of the locations Fury was looking at.

this was the item of speculation when ironman 2 came out.. there were so many articles on the locations of these spots.. the one in the ocean was rumored to be atlantis before Feige came out and said that universal has the rights to Namor

Pietro (Borat style accent): 'Ello Meesa 'Awkeye! I am Pietro-uh-Maximoff, deez eez my seester uh-Vanda! You uh-No touch!

Wanda: 'Ello dare to you uh-Meesa 'Awkeye today!

CUT!

and whats the latest rumor regarding the spot on the ocean?

Still Atlantis in my opinion, isn't that spot exactly where Atlantis is located in mythology. Universal doesn't own Atlantis. And I guess Namor will return to Marvel eventually unless Universal use him.

It's probably still intended to be Atlantis, yeah. And it's probably a foregone conclusion that Universal won't do anything with Namor, so the rights will revert soon enough.

But just for fanboy continuity sake, we could say that the blip is actually the location of Lemuria, which *is* referenced in the MCU in the name of the freighter at the beginning of CATWS ("Lemurian Star").

when i google atlantis there are hundret diffrent locations...
now lemuria. i just searched that too and something interesting i found is the serpent crown....yeah but basically they hope to bring namor to the mcu.

Universal has NEVER done anything with Namor and show no interest in doing so in the future. Why do they still have the rights?

Not a clue why they still do. I think the only reason the acquired them was because Man from Atlantis was hot back in the day when Incredible Hulk was on TV
