Not a clue why they still do. I think the only reason the acquired them was because Man from Atlantis was hot back in the day when Incredible Hulk was on TV
give the rights back to marvel!!!!!!!...........

the most used sentence ever ;-)

Heh, no way they've had the rights that long. They would've reverted back by now...

Would Sub Mariner be a good hero for MCU? I suppose they could do something cool with him. Ive always considered him to basically be Marvels version of Aquaman. Im not really a fan of that.

^^ In that interview it sounds like they did use accents, but ATJ says at one point "they might just ADR it out" lol!

The Twins will be joined at the hip I bet. Quicksilver will be really protective of SW.

Universal has NEVER done anything with Namor and show no interest in doing so in the future. Why do they still have the rights?

I'm wondering if Marvel had let Universal to keep the rights of Namor longer as part of the deal to get Hulk for MCU.

I'm wondering now if Joss takes that a step further and makes Wanda & Pietro's powers proximity-based.

As long as they're not joined at the crotch.

You need to start looking at him as Marvel's version of Vegeta. THEN you'll become a fan.

And it's a far more accurate comparison, anyway.

That would seriously put a damper on Quicksilver's usefulness! :woot:

Here's a bunch of quotes from him:
"Chris [Evans] is a good friend of mine. The movie starts in three weeks,” the actor, whose character debuts April 4 in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, told MovieWeb. “I know he’s read the script. He’s like, ‘Yo, man, I read the Avengers script. It’s good.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ He said, ‘Yeah, Joss is doing rewrites, but it’s good. I was like, ‘Great! So … am I in it?’ And he says, ‘I’ve got to go. I’ll be back.’ What do you mean? Why can’t you just tell me if I’m in the movie? No one will tell me, not one person, so I gave up on it.”

"No, but I’ve been stalking him in London and harassing him and sending him emails. I’m ready for it. I mean, I’ve only met Joss twice now and I’ve made it very clear to him that whatever capacity he wants to use the Falcon, I’m there."

“I'm like, 'So have y'all decided if I'm in Avengers 2 yet? I'll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow!"

"If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there’s no way I would complain or balk at any part of that."
Love his attitude! Hope his enthusiasm works and he gets a role in a future Avengers film if not AoU.

Im glad Mackie wants to be in the movies, but its not really up to him. If the story calls for Falcon to be featured (hopefully in an important, awesome way), he'll be in it. Not really a thing where you can force yourself into a movie.

Namor is way cooler than Aquaman, he can even fly with the tiny wings on his leg :oldrazz:

Not in a major role in a soon to be released film but if he keeps this up long term and makes it clear that he's always available, always ready to say yes and price won't be an issue something could happen. Avengers stories are always going to be some variant of **** going down all over the place so any connected hero can be relevant even if they only get a cameo. Guys like SLJ campaigned hard to get themselves into Star Wars for eg from having no connection to the franchise. Price and not wanting anything specific from your appearance is the main thing IMO. But in terms of anything significant, yep a guy like Mackie can't force himself in through sheer will alone but it's good to see him try and I hope he gets lucky in Avengers 3 if not 2.

I would not rule out Mackie appearing in post-credits.

I think there's a fair chance that nearly everyone will be in Avengers 3. The original 6. The 3 new guys. The buddy characters who are Avengers in their own right in the comics War Machine, Falcon (don't know about Winter Soldier) And my A3 predicted new guys Black Panther & Ms Marvel. Maybe the guys with confirmed/expected solos also in some form (Ant Man & Strange).

(Obviously not all as major characters)

Every contract is different. Maybe they get a shot at one film no matter how long it takes to make.

That's quite possible, too.

Ya I tried to look into anything specific around the net for their Namor deal and got nothing. I saw where there was a movie in dev hell for a while but nothing came of it. I bet if anything Universal is just waiting for Disney/Marvel to make them a deal with all the Avengers money. For whatever reason it appears either they have a very long window to make a movie with him or there is none.

Ugh, I hate when anyone brings that blowhards name up. So full of garbage. Marvel has been known to be very tight knit like this random dude is going to know all these secret details.

Namor is actually quite different from Aquaman. He's most interesting when he's in the role of an antihero or villain; while I don't believe a solo Namor movie would fit in the MCU, it could be great to see him in a Illuminati film or something like that.

the end credits should include a scene of Falcon, War Machine, and Ant-Man eating shwarma.
