I could see Efron as a young Hank Pym. No way is he Dr. Strange, who really needs to be older and more established. He could possibly work as Daredevil but I still think he is a bit to young for that as I think Daredevil should be early 30s.

I think ZE is a dang good actor IMO. I saw the movie where he played a younger version of Chandler from Friends and it was a very good film, way better than I expected and that was due to his acting chops. I welcome him in the MCU but def not as DD or Strange. I could see Nova or IF for sure though. Just not sure if they wanna spend that kind of money on a Netflix show though

The thing is that Iron Fist is much further away in production than DD. I don't think they're planning to film Iron Fist anytime soon, whereas DD is meant to film in July. So if they're looking at Efron now, it's probably for DD. How old is he now?

Fist, Cage and Jones will all be filming this year, from my understanding.

The other thing is that I've come to like Efron. He's funny and looks for fun stuff - 17 Again is a secret love of mine. Neighbors was hella funny. I don't mind it at all. You get him now and you might be able to lock him in longer than a guy like RDJ. Granted he's around the same age as Hemsworth and Evans when they did CA1 and Thor1, but with the money being a bit more flowing now, they might look to a longer deal than the original core got.

Longer deals are to lock in less expensive talent so they don't have to pay that much more later in case they and the film they're starring in blow up in popularity. Considering that these contracts are all one sided in Marvel's favor it doesn't behoove the actor to sign a longer deal than he or she has to. All those actors would prefer having to sign and negotiate a new contract every movie or couple of movies - that's why RDJ is getting the big bucks.

I wonder how much they're willing to pay Efron since this isn't a company that pays the going rate and now thanks to Neighbors his stock has never been higher. I could see him doing young Hank Pym more than Murdock - especially as part of a NETFLIX series. Dr Strange would be ridiculous casting - they need an actor with gravitas and panache and at least a decade older.

I think we need a separate thread on Zac Efron. Most of this talk has been about DD or Dr Strange, not Avengers: AOU.
