I will say that the ending of the movie is the part i had the least problem with. Moore's ending kinda works in a CB (and thats still being debate), but needed to be changed for the movie. The rest is blech.

All that said, I still think Snyder's visual style might actually work in MOS.

Watchmen wasn't as good as the graphic novel but I think it was decent when judged on it's own.

Unfortunately I don't like any of the pre-Nolan Batman movies. I can't remember the first one though, so I don't have any opinion about that. The second wasn't poorly made but it just clashed terribly with my taste. The rest I didn't take seriously.

Watchmen is such an awful movie. God I hate that movie.

Any interesting thought in it is a severely watered down version of a more interesting thought from the graphic novel.

The rest is slow-mo garbage and unfunny attempts at humor, like the sex scene.

Bleh.

I have read the graphic novel before I went to see the movie, and although Snyder tried to be as faithful as he can be with his adaptation, the movie still has too many slow-mo and other Snyder-isms that imo hurt the movie. And the ending was a total cop-out. I understand that Snyder changed it because he believes his version is more suitable for the movie, but the entire story written by Moore was leading up to the big revelation, and by changing it Snyder had botched the movie. It also made no sense why he'd have that Lynx with Ozymandias after the change, either.

Oh, and to let Silk Spectre instead of Dr. Manhattan uttered that famous line at the end was a huge disappointment.

I wanted to watch the extended cut recently, but none of the links online had that version :csad:

I just really like the story of it and the characters are really interesting especially Manhattan and Rorschach, its got great stylish action scenes and great soundtrack

I don't have a problem with slow motion at all, I much prefer slow motion over the fast cutting that is so prevalent in many modern films

slow mo I can still see what is going on, cut cut cut cut cut cut gives me a headache and causes me to actually turn off some films if it gets really bad eg haywire most recent example

Many classic films use slow mo to great effect throughout the ages

I'm indifferent about Watchmen. I thought they tried to be as faithful as they could to the graphic novel, without having to make it a 5 hour long movie. However, I will definitely agree that there were things that worked in the books that didn't work in the movie. Like whoever they got to be Richard Nixon in the really bad makeup job.

I did love the guy who did Rorschach, and especially his death scene. But they missed it on several other things.

Like I say, I'm indifferent on it. No way was it even close to being mentioned among the best CB movies, but it wasn't horrible, and outside anyone who is a fan of the graphic novel mostly forgettable.

I was so hyped for Watchmen that I even made my own trailer for it (the only movie I've done that for other than Avengers), and boy was I let down. I LOVED 2 sequences in it, and felt either indifferent towards or actively disliked everything else.

Same here.

Was one of the two sequences the opening? I always felt that was hands down the best moment of the movie.

Same here. The use of Dylan's song All Along The Watchtower was a very ingenious move and showcased the montage extremely well.

It was The Times They Are a-Changin'. The Hendrix version of All Along The Watchtower was used during the arctic scene at the end of the film.

Yep, the opening sequence and the Dr. Manhattan origin sequence. Those were damn near perfection. Everything else, not so much.

Ah yes, Manhattan origin was great too. When I think back on the film, the most annoying thing about it is definitely the slow-mo. Goodness gracious, Snyder.

The Hollis Mason death scene in the Director's Cut was ace.

Loved Snyders Watchmen. Hated the over the top brutality in the alleyway scene. Didnt care for the ending being changed either but i understand why they had to.

Agreed.

Loved Mahattans orgin, the soundtrack, Rorschach, opening credits, Comedian, and how closely they went with the look of the comic. You cant get much better of an adaptation. Too bad the bearded one is a d**k and refuses to show love.

Ozy and Silk Spectre were a bit weaker than the rest of the cast.

I like Cavill, but I'm not convinced that he, nor anyone, would be able to make a Superman movie that is better than the first one, mainly because of Christophe Reeve's performance but also due to the classic John Williams score and the simple wonders that film elicits from its audience, even after decades. Frankly, I'm not sure how MOS will do just yet, but I found the recent comments from the young actor who plays an adolescent Clark Kent about how it will be darker makes me a bit wary about this movie.

I don't really think MOS going to be a better film that Superman 1, but it will definately have ALOT more awesome Superman action.

Yes Reeve was perfectly cast as Supes, but let's not kid ourselves we have YET to see any truely epic Superman fights scenes.

I'm not a fan of the Donnerverse take on Superman, and I have yet to see a Superman movie I love despite the character being one of my faves in all of comics, so I am indeed expecting/hoping for MoS to top Superman: The Movie for me.

I don't think it's going to be as critically acclaimed as "Superman: The Movie" since it's still held as the gold standard for CMB films.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of any Superman film so I hope "Man of Steel" can atleast be a Supes film that "I" love.

My feelings exactly.

I just am tired of seeing the same villains in Superman. You all know Luthor is the villain in the sequel....
