BvS The Batsuit Thread - - - - Part 13

Batman has had blue in his costume through multiple eras. Also midnight blue would blend into the night sky.

Maybe I start a thread having a debate on the likes and dislikes of Batman. I too don't get the dislike of the spooky Kane/Finger style from you and others. The blue doesn't say Batman to me nor it makes Batman into the creature of the night/Dark Knight. Having blue on Batman is like having bright yellow on Jason Voorhees. It makes no sense to me. This is why I am closer to 1939 era and Frank Miller's Batman.

Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns Batman wore a blue and gray costume.

I have a tough time imagining a well-executed male nipple on a modern action suit...even in concept. :O

Schumacher's actually done some good films, but some see the ass (and nipple) shots being attributed to his being gay.

lol, I didn't mean the nipples can be executed well, I meant the concept of Roman armor or whatever for the suit. Nipples are never called for.

And Schumacher lost me after that crass film.

Please let this be a batsuit I like, Snyder!

True, but I was referring to the Black and Grey suit later on for his fight with the Joker and the Bone crushing finale with the mutant leader.

The "panther" Bat-Suit looked pretty cool, and it had nipples.

I'm not fond of it. Too much...detail and molding. And it looks hard to move in. I don't mind form-fitting costumes, but there's no need for detailed, nipply body-sculpts.

They're probably going to mold it over Affleck's body to get the shape of the suit like Cavill's to get the 'skin-tight' effect.

I'm fine with that, just don't go over board and have the suit cling to every nook and cranny or look too fake in terms of musculature.

Just chiming in with a new Batfleck picture... I've already posted a bunch that I think are about as dead-on as I'd like (particularly the Arkham-mod that I posted last and the mod of vigilant's model), so figured I'd start having some fun...

Would you be spooked by this

or the Adam West version.

That's definitely more spooky than Adam West. And I can see "spooky" working in a certain type of movie. I just don't like the shape of the cowl.

Are people still *****ing about the nipples that can barely be seen?

I really like the way the cowl and cape blend into each other. And the belt is great.

Yes. It was silly to have them. Although, I was complaining about that suit in general.

That's pretty rad man. I could definitely get into that.

Black and grey > Blue and grey.

I hope Snyder gives Batman a third nipple on the suit.

Awesome!!!

You cannot downplay the nipples. They're horrendous and stand out and throw the whole suit off and make it look like Batman's supposed to be running around shirtless, like that's the illusion instead of him wearing a form fitting uniform when we know it's a uniform anyway. It makes it so uncool.

Thanks for the comments guys... I think I'm having a speed race with myself now, since we never did the Batfleck contest ;)

So I've been into blue/grey for a long time, but since having it all but confirmed that we're getting black/grey, I've been getting more and more psyched about that color combo. The best of my manips have all been black or very, very, very dark blue.

But just for fun, here is a new one with both options... Let's see how many more of these I can crank out tonight, I'm getting pretty damn fast at it. Also, I know the face looks a little weird here, but you'd be shocked at how close to the original illustration it is...

One more before bedtime... Enough fleckin around...

I think I'm definitely swayed to the black/grey now...

Also, after my like, 50th picture with Ben Affleck's face, I can't imagine Batman having any other chin... I find Fleck's jaw fits better than the majority of the originals I'm replacing...

Great manip! Never underestimate the power of the stubbled butt-chin. :hehe:

How??? The 1939 Batman kills vampires, shoots villains, lynches Hugo Strange's monsters, and smiles and laughs as Dr. Death was set on fire.
I am fan of the Golden Age Superman and Batman if you can tell.

Nothing can top the Golden Age era
Glad we are on the same boat.

Love this. Comic suit blends so sweet with Ben's real face, I want to see this live action now

It isn't easy to defend the nipples, but that's partly because the context in which Schumacher had them appear didn't really seem to allow for them. They could make sense if they appeared on armour that appeared organic, worn by a Batman that attempted to appear like a literal demon, in the style of Kelly Jones. There, they would underline the idea that he was not a man in a suit, but a beast. Schumacher didn't exactly take that route, however...

For all the hate the nipples get, the black and silver monstrosity that followed was far worse, and that had no nipples. I would say that suit, along with the TDK(R) suit, are the ugliest costumes in which Batman has appeared.
