I dunno, the lenses look so silly for live action.

Not a fan.

I don't think they would look silly in live action, it's just no-one (including myself, and I've tried) has managed to photoshop them in a way that looks good and real. It's a hard thing to get right.

That's pretty bloody good. When I saw the original manip a few minutes ago I had one of those "oh it's been revealed! Wait, it's a manip" moments and this is even better. I don't want the suit to be as bulky/wrinkled/detailed as the new Cap suit but it's a good basis to start from.

Just for the record - if people want to see what silver lenses in a black cowl would look like, FOR REAL, NO PHOTOSHOP, here it is, done in real life.

Now let's be very clear: I think it should be done with much more transparent lenses so you can see the actor's eyes in close up, and the eye lenses themselves need to a better, more interesting evil eye shape, and they have to be set into the right face sculpt, but if you're sick of seeing photoshops where lenses look too cartoony or whatever, this is real life.

If you filmed that in a dark environment, with a small light somewhere off camera strategically bounced off the lenses, it would look like glowing white eyes, no CG or trickery needed.

HAHAHA! I just found this VERY old sketch that was based on one of the first pics of the Begins suit (actually a maquette of it) that some people saw. This was our first look at the Begins suit. This is WAY BETTER than the Begins suit:

I wish I had photoshop installed so I could massage those eye shapes into a slightly more interesting shape. They can's just be ovals.

It's a great manip, and I like the way you have taken the design towards a protective fabric concept. Just to be fussy, however, I think it looks a little bit too "roomy".

Yeah, Batman's suit should definitely have stretch and tightness. It should be more The Avengers than Winter Soldier (and definitely not First Avenger).

Thanks - yeah, I can't take credit for the cowl, but I thought the same thing when I first saw it - that material and look is exactly what I'd like to see in live-action! More form-fitting than the hardened rubber "helmets" that we've gotten in the past.

I don't think this was used because a one piece leather cowl would not have enough neck movement. But a two piece like TDK - that'd be great! Look at how form fitting and sleek it is!

I love this. Great work everybody that was involved in creating that. I would be interested in seeing this with a more helmet like cowl. I might have a go.
