haha, agreed. But yeah, it's sweetness for sure.

Here's another Cap-less, scruffled Batfleck. Similar to the one I posted before logging off last night.

Very nice. Your manips are getting so good. :yay:
From Kevin Smith's Reddit AMA today:

Yes. This is the end of the rubber, segmented nightmare. I know it.

Just for the record, another one from the vaults: What a real leather full cowl would look like, courtesy of unused Daredevil designs:

I don't think this was used because a one piece leather cowl would not have enough neck movement. But a two piece like TDK - that'd be great! Look at how form fitting and sleek it is!

The Daredevil costume was actually pretty decent, IMO.

I liked it too! Except for the molded ears on the side- looked like of goofy. Glad they didn't have those in the film.

Agreed - and for my dollar, all the sonar stuff was really cool and well done, too. It wasn't a great flick by any means, and probably not even good, but I don't think it was as outright bad as many thought/remember. If Affleck hadn't been melting down already at that time, I don't think it would have taken quite as much heat.

If they took away the bad music, made Bullseye look better, took away the awkward wire fight scenes and the playground scene, Daredevil would've been solid. Those parts really bring the movie down though. But yeah I always liked Daredevil's movie costume.

Thought I'd get in on the fun and do my own take on CosBlade's/BattleAngel's Manip - great work by the way! I did some changes to the cowl, torso, utility belt, and shading in general. I think it's a damn good design guys - not sure if my changes helped it at all, but thought I'd do my part to try:yay:

I really hope the suit looks closest to this.

I think you pretty much perfected it. Great work on fixing the shading of the stomach. I might prefer a little more contrast between the black and gray, but only slightly. I would be stoked if this is along the lines of what we get, even if it doesn't meet my exact wishes. It'd be a great suit.

Thanks Lench! Each drop of insight is pure nectar to this famished nerd.

:hehe: No problem. I checked out the Damon AMA, but couldn't find anything about the Batsuit. He did crack some jokes and stuff, though.

Most tid-bits we've heard about this batsuit point to no rubber craziness.

Can't wait for this suit. It's been so long since bats looked good in live action.

I really do need a picture of this suit right now.

It's going to be the best batsuit ever seen in live action. Mark my words.

Heh, I don't know why people give Kevin Smith so much **** on this forum, but I love him. His enthusiasm is hilarious.

That's so awesome!

I would love to see this Batsuit happen in the Superman/Batman film.

That is freaking awesome.

This is the ONLY Batman suit that I didn't add the "MESH" texture to. I just made the symbol creepier and harder to see. It's funny, but I like a logo so subtle, that an enemy would have to be facing Batman directly to see it. And by then, it's too late :hehe:

Again, I think the layered cloth/grey camo was genius. And Batfleck looks wrong without stubble.

Version 2 addresses a few issues I noticed after I uploaded the first. I meant for there to be more contrast between the suit and cape/cowl since the rumors indicate it's black and gray. Also, the lines going from left to right on the cowl I believe were from the molding process (cowl pic from the RPF) so I removed them. Also fixed shading on the belt.

So basically what I've gathered is:
1. The suit is similar in padded form-fittedness to Captain America (used his latest suit as base since I have seen the Avengers one done to death)
2. The cowl is Jim Lee inspired (New 52 cowl is designed by Lee and has the modern aesthetic, short ears w/o being too short and doesn't trample the classic look)
3. Tan belt, because it should be
4. Lenses, because I couldn't get Fleck's eye to look right, moreso than out of preference. I think the natural eye look is best, white eye is 2nd best, full on lens is the least favorite look for me.

Version 2. Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I really like this. It has a realistic look while being undoubtedly Batman. The only thing that troubles me about it is that it looks almost too achievable with a modest budget. I feel like the bat suit, while it should appear realistic, should also look like it cost a LOT of money and effort. Like something your average vigilante would have a hard time replicating.

It definitely has a very cool SWAT vibe to it, though, and is so far my favorite design I've seen on here.

When I first see Batman standing next to Superman, I know the first thing I'm gonna worry about is how realistic all of this is.

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Both from a standpoint of us getting our money's worth as an audience and from a standpoint of it looking like something a person with unlimited resources would be able to put together.

The Bat-suit should not look like a Halloween costume.

It looks a bit TOO realistic-like what Batman would wear if he existed in the real world. It would be a tad silly looking, ironically, being placed beside Superman.

^ I like this design MORE, it's not forgetting about realism (it even has elements of camouflage) But it's not BUSY, it owes itself the implied structure of the source material, and can be taken seriously as some level of body armor :yay:

It could be a carbon nanoweave fabric.

In which case it would look like regular material, but it'd be almost completely impervious to damage. He'd still need slight padding to withstand blunt (Emily) trauma from things like gunshots though.
