Nothing "barely" about 'em... those things are full out Farrah Fawcett on a cold beach, so yes the *****ing continues.

That suit is still one of the best suits. Nipples and all.

There's that bogus sentiment again. You can't possibly know that as a black and grey costume has never been done in the movies yet. And please, don't use Adam West and the various fan films as examples, Adam's costume was done almost years ago and the fan films were done on a dime and a prayer, not a major studio film budget.

I agree... And I look forward to seeing what we get. I do hope for a suit that looks as if the designers actually looked at and read a few books.

I still feel that most of the suits for the films missed the mark. Some of the cowls I like, especially "Returns" and "Forever".. But the suits always looked like things that were done without considering a "Bruce and Alfred made it in the cave" type of feel from the books. Going more for a look, whether it was too polished, or way too "tech" influenced. Just not what I have been waiting to see.

The "Cowl" dilemma.. And the neck issue? Seems that it is either too thick? Or the head and neck have been separated to allow for movement. I get that a cowl with a thicker neck is easier to create, and far easier to slide over the actors head... But I would love to a see a cowl finally achieved with it being one piece, and a neck thin enough to allow for some movement. And shorter ears.. I like the ears shorter myself.

I am looking forward to finally getting a look at an official pic..
The wait continues...

I thought this was an interesting mouth opening...

You are correct, that is definitely interesting. I personally love that design, and also this one...

And as 'creature of the night' goes, this concept is a fav:

... just needs a bit more gray.

I'm all about the truly gothic, dark knight take on Batman. I love it - (of course I also am a huge champion for the traditional suit)... I think most people on here are hoping for our first chance to see the traditional suit, and I never got much traction when I would post cool alternate suits like the ones above, but I particularly love them. I wish we had gotten something more exotic like this in the past.

We're in an expectation phase now similar to 2005/2006 when talk of the Begins suit was just that - talk... other than manips of course, and this is the one that was leading the charge:

from the BatScot archives

Not my personal ideal mind you, but that chain mail look, not black rubber, was what most people were hoping for.

I forgot about that pic. Very interesting. I wish we had gotten that - or anything that shook the suit up significantly in terms of the build materials. Each day that goes by that I think about it, I'm more and more surprised that Nolan didn't deviate from the rubber-mania.

The BB suit was awesome nolan should have just made the cape turnable and few tweaks hear an their with some glowing eye lens .

The BB suit was fine - not awesome. But it was most definitely fine and not horrible. As some have mentioned, BB also has by far the best shots of Batman in action. Glowing eyes and a head that can turn would have definitely gone a long way towards making this suit the best we had seen yet... But as it stood, I think the BB suit is actually inferior to just about every rubber suit that had come before it with the exception of the way the bat symbol was handled, and it's admittedly very cool utility belt (as far as tiny belts go).

Batman Forever and Batman and Robin (along with BTAS) are what got me into Batman as a kid, so the whole Batnipple thing was something I'd never even thought about until i came onto the SHH. i STILL like the suit, nips and all. The nips are kind of weird but I get what they were going for.

The other suit from Batman Forever wasn't bad either, and didn't have nips.

The Val Kilmer suit is infinitely better than the BB suit, imo. Just take the nipples off and mess with the symbol...

Here's one without the symbol at all, because I had to rush the one above...

It was better with the oval. Plain black bat on plain black suit is plain pointless.

I don't think that you did, not that there's anything wrong with that :woot: And don't mention BTAS in the same breath as BF or that other movie that shall not be named ;)

A definite improvement... cowl needed some work.

The plain black bat is better in general and the Batman Begins suit is the closest all black suit we've seen where that combo worked... but in all fairness I have to admit a certain fondness for the Batman Returns suit, oval and all.

With minor adjustments(not so exaggerated cod piece and no nipples and maybe more subtle muscle definition) the Schumacher suits could have been really strong. Oh well.

one more option, for those who want a non-yellow(or yellowish) belt, but think there should be a nod to it. Personally, I think brown or tan leather is the best, because it says "tool belt" rather than "police equipment" belt, and I don't love the idea of Batman as a policeman even though he essentially is a super elite combination beat cop/detective.
Farg - you've come up with a concept for the bat symbol on a yellow background that I don't completely hate... and I hate the goddamn bat symbol on the belt buckle in general. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to end up hating it again pretty goddamn soon but for now... eh, it kinda looks ok ;)

Slightly off topic, IMHO the BB Bat-Suit is the best big screen Bat-Suit so far.

P/S Like TheFlamingCoco said the BB suit would have looked a lot cooler if it would have been black and gray instead of all black.
This one and B89

Pictures like this of the BB suit make me like it less and less. It looks awful here and worse than the TDK suit in most instances.

Don't get me wrong, there are some great shots of the suit in Batman Begins, but there are also some unforgivable ones. This particular still shot is especially unflattering. I'm not sure who ever thought this would make for a good promotional photo.

*shrug* Looks pretty cool to me. I used to love that promo pic back in the day.

This image personifies the concept of Good Cop (Superman)/Bad Cop (Batman).

Batman looks fantastic. I would make some changes (different cowl and belt; armored gauntlets; different emblem), but it's impressive as is.

The BB suit is still my favorite.

It also indicates why we should be grateful that Clark is the one with the superpowers.

I think that suit concept really looks good on its own.

However, next to Cavill's MoS suit something about it seems a bit off. With the darker shade of blue they went with for the MoS suit, it's really weird for me to have the majority of Batman's suit that much lighter.

Unless brightening up the MoS suit is part of the "tweaks" they're making. But yeah, as it stands it looks like the "grittier reboot movie" Superman standing next to a "comics come to life" Batman.

Where is that Batsuit from? A fan film?

Superman looks a bit too short next to Batman. And although that is probably the real life height difference between Cavill and Affleck, I wouldn't want them to stand right next to each other like that and make Supes look a bit diminutive. Him hovering and Batman crouching would be more aesthetic.

It seems to be that Superman is smaller in general in that pic. I suspect because of the source pics for both characters. Thus, they aren't of the same scale.

Its actually a 3D redering done bt Vigilant on tbis forum- he does great work! We've used one of his models in some manips several pages back too.
