Superman looks a bit too short next to Batman.

It is a bit jarring, but honestly, I really like it. Superman, the invincible alien, is shorter (and less muscular) than Batman, the peak human. It's a delightful contrast.

Holy smokes, Vigilant makes cool stuff. Here's another Fleck based on his stuff.

Hey, that's me and Ben Affleck. :woot: I'm glad you like my images. Since my childhood Batman is my passion and as anybody has his own vision of Batman, I have mine. Because my drawings are not that good, I found a way with 3D-Rendering to make my vision of Batman real.

This is my hobby, not my work. Unfortunatly my time is to limited to create many more manips. But in the moment I'm creating a scene with an iconic view of Batman. Think capeporn. :cwink: But I believe it's not ready until we see the first pictures of Ben in the new suit.

For many years I'm a regular visitor of SSH, but due to my not so great english skills and my limited time I'm to shy to post often. So forgive me, if I can't make any manips in the moment. But if you like to see, I can post the pictures I make from time to time. Or you can go to my german webpage www.batman-3d.de. But there you won't find my newest pictures, sorry. And thanks again for your lovely comments.:yay:

For some reason, it became cool and hipsterish for others to hate on The Dark Knight trilogy. Because of that I'll take any rants or complaints of the whole trilogy as grain of salt.
If criticism is to be simplified as hate then "I trust in Nolan" was nothing short of idolatry... and because of that I always took those sermons and glorifications with a grain of salt.

Please keep giving us the pleasure of seeing your work! In all honesty, your vision of Batman is truly breathtaking. And I think most here would agree that we see The Dark Knight come to life in your work!

Why? Surely there must be some things you liked? None at all?
About the puzzle suit? Well, the mesh layer was a decent idea, as was the modular armor for that matter, more or less... but the overall execution was poor. And as much as I would like to lay claim to being cool and hippsterish now alas I said as much from that first sneak peek back in the day and it only got worse with each successive look we got at the thing. So I'm going to have to go with none at all.

Does anyone else like Matt Wagner's Batman? I enjoy his style, and I feel he is quite underrated compared to the likes of Jim Lee, Neal Adams, etc.

I do; quite prefer Wagner to either Lee or Adams actually... Wagner draws to a certain pulp sensibility that suits the character.

Hey man, your english is perfectly fine, ddont even wory about that! I looked at your site and there so many great images! I really love the flowing cape image- so iconic!

The image of you and Batman above, is that a new suit design? It looks different from the ones shown in your other work. So good! If you have time, could you either post or send me a high resolution version of it? Thanks in advance! Keep up the good work!

... just needs to have the symbol darkened a bit.

Great post, but I would like to make it VERY CLEAR that it is NOT my manip!! I merely found it on the web, and I feel INCREDIBLY guilty that I am wrongly receiving credit for that wonderful manip.

Truth be told, I have NEVER made a single manip in my life!! I am merely an admirer of those talented people who do.
Here is the original:

created by bunk, a longtime SSH poster and I think still lurking around.

And is not hipster hate to have wished TDK had given us something like this... which is essentially just the TDK suit with the mesh concept as the outer layer.

There, now you don't need to feel guilty anymore ;)

BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN in 3D

LOL I love both of these to death. The darker one w/ the eyes - yeah... these characters are going to be amazing together on screen. Also love good cop/bad cop comparison. I did do a few tweaks to Vigilants suit - the cape/cowl combo is different due to requests other folks have made that they be one-piece, and I darkened the logo. But the original stuff - every single one of Vigilant's pieces, are just mind blowingly amazing. I'm going to make some more later.

Re: the Batman Forever suit I did - I agree black symbol on black suit isn't great, but like I said, I had to rush. The main point I was trying to make is that the suit has a lot of potential, and I think it's "cooler" than the BB suit. I may try to play around with it later to show off its potential. May do some work on the TDKT suits as well just to see what they could have been.

Love this thread. Let's keep it going! Looking fwd to seeing some potentially new stuff when I get home tonight :D

Im torn with wanting to see the new suit reveal. On one hand I'm SO excited to see what Batfleck will actually look like in the film, but on the other hand im having so much fun seeing all the manips and cool ideas in this thread- im a bit worried its gonna just dissipate completely once the real suit design comes out.

The problem with attempts at lenses on film thus far is that they're too damn bulbous and bright... in the comics the lenses are effectively Batman's eyes and brow and move as such but that's not easily achieved in a movie costume where the eye hole needs to allow for some peripheral vision... doesn't mean you can't cgi the look. It just needs to be done right, like in the above.

Here's an old favorite, albeit a manip:

... and it works just fine.

No lenses. Better off going with just regular eyes.
At the risk of resurrecting the realism argument... In Batman's line of work there's a genuine practical advantage in wearing some sort of eye protection.

Agreed- it would be a shame if a fly hitting his eye would be the downfall of the Caped Crusader! I mean when I've gotten a gnat or other bug in my eye, it takes me out until i can get it out. It sucks!

If they could darken the grey slightly and thin down the gaunlets a bit, that would be pretty much perfect for me.

Yup. Keep it black and grey but darken the grey a bit, make the gauntlets/boots a bit slimmer, shorten the ears a tad, and the Arkham City suit is perfect for the screen in this series. At least, I think it.

The statue is a good example of what we need. It does look somewhat practical and you can tell Batman isn't just wearing a layer of fabric, but it isn't an overly complicated design. It doesn't need any "explaining". It's also something that looks unrestricted and like Batman would be able to move in it. Most of all, though, it looks like the Batman we all know from the comics.

All they'd need to do is get rid of the weird Buzz Lightyear top bits. And yeah, darken the grey.
