Here's a bigger version of that art. There are a lot of cool details, but that belt SUCKS!

I like the coloring of this suit, but this is a weird looking picture.

I really don't think mobility was much of an issue with the Nolan suits. I truly think Nolan is just a ****** action director. He just does not have an eye for bringing superheroes to life visually.

A Zac Snyder Batman movie(s) with the exact same scripts, sets, cast and even Batsuits would have looked COMPLETELY different to Nolan's movies, just in the WAY it was shot and the action staged.

And if for whatever reason the forced Snyder to put a BB/TDK esque suit on Affleck for this film, the fights would still look way better. Don't forget - the Nite Owl and Ozymandias suits were still pretty Burton/Nolany in terms of how they were made and those fights were great.

The Night Owl suit was metallic looking fabric....not like the stiff rubber sections of the Bat suit....

I MEAN LOOKS AT THIS:

His neck couldn't even move his neck.......LOL

Rubber sections everwhere

Speaking of Nite Owl, I thought the covered chin looked pretty good on this suit.

The Watchmen was a parody so the costumes parodied Superhero movie costumes. Still that film had excellent costuming.

It was only really Ozy that was a parody, and it was a parody of the "Batman & Robin" suits, indicating a "hero who sold out".

Sorry to disappoint you, but the materials used on Nightowl, Oz for "Watchmen" and Batman for "BB" are exactly the same.. The approach and technical applications are different, but they were both clay sculptures to start.. ending with full body foam latex castings.

But cant we strike fear and be able to "MOVE" fluidly like Cap?? These two qualities of a Bat Suit are not mutually exclusive..........Cap took on Batroc without his shield. He fought 12 bruisers in an elevator with his shield lying on the floor.

I think the suit should look really close to this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuKQ3Oc97Wk

Look at how he's able to move.....now granted.....Batman would never follow an unknown guy with claws into such a confined space.....AND no Burton armor
could keep adamantium claws out. So, let's cut the "it looks like spandex" crap. I think Cap's Shield uniform is a get idea for how the Bat suit should look and function....

Batman needs to be able to slide, kick, leap, leg swipe and do all the things Cap did.

Yeah, I'm not disagreeing with any of the points you made about functionality/fit/ease of movement.

That being said, anyone would have to agree Marvel took plenty of 'creative liberties' with Cap's suit in order to reach those end goals on film. His cowl/hood/helmet/velcro collar thing in The Avengers looked horrible as s**t, IMO. And all of his other suits have made concessions with the cowl into a helmet. While that's all good for Cap since he's a product of WWII military essentially, those concessions would be uglier than hell on B-Man (and we all know would make 95% of fans flip their lids).

What I was saying is that you can take certain liberties with some hero's suits that cannot translate for others'.

Emo Scarlett Witch in TA:AOU...perfect example. What do you think fans would've done if Anne's Catwoman looked like some Mall Punk?

For no reason at all - A Llama dressed as Batman

Like:
-The texture
-Coloring
-Seems to flow organically

Don't like:
-Body proportions
-Weird pose

If someone could do some heavy manipping to that pic, it has the potential to look brilliant.

That's not quite right.

They revealed it a day or two before they started shooting exteriors with him in the suit (on Kent Farm, then the next couple of days for the Smallville battle), but they'd shot stuff before then (The tornado/car scenes, I believe).

So just because filming begins on the 19th of May, we may not get anything for a couple for weeks after that...

i misremembered that. they started principle photography august 1st
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_of_Steel_(film)#Filming

and revealed the suit august 4th.

Aaaagh, someone busting out science & history on why dark blue's better!
Definitely not the science (black is better than blue) and only part of the history... medieval Japanese didn’t have access to the black dyes needed to make such a dark cloth. On the other hand, indigo dye has been well-established in Japan since the 12th century. And there is a species of indigo that is native to Japan and was popular among peasants, so they had a relatively cheap way to dye clothes dark blue.

Blue was used not because it was better than black but because it was one of the darker colors* that was readily available at the time.

* brown and red being the others, and both more commonly used than blue.

I've always preferred the black to the dark blue. I just think a really rich deep black gives a stronger contrast and just looks nicer.

That suit is really awesome except for the belt! Extremely weird proportions as others have mentioned also

Not a fan of the mouth hole, too much like Begins which just doesn't work.

Dude... no. The night owl suit is sculpted rubber glued to fabric, just like the Begins suit and every Burton/Schumaker one. It's not fabric (on the outside)in the slightest.

The delay in unveiling the costume has me worried that this film will be shot on stdui and green screen sets rather than out in the open like Dark Knight Rises and Winter Soldier. While the viral spoiling from nearby fans taking shots can be annoying the films look far more impressive shot in real streets. I hope Synder doesn't take backward steps as a director and return to what he did with Watchmen. Man of Steel was a far better looking film because he used locations when possible.
