It really, really doesn't matter.

The (brief) concern was that Batman's costume would be immaculate apart from some incongruous, gaudy bling on his hands and wrists. That is clearly not how the actual costume appears.

Sorry too much info and little time... but has this been claimed yet?

Knuckles are bronze :D

I'm really glad the off/washed off bronze sheen is barely noticeable and not this garish gold. Nice cosplay nonetheless.

I know it doesn't matter in terms of the actual costume, it just bothers me that the people who claimed there was some kind of bronze-brass element, clearly based on real info, were called liars by some people here when they clearly weren't.

And the people who made those claims never suggested it would be gaudy like on the cosplays (which were clearly inaccurate, but the best people could do based on what they heard), but the people who jumped on them saying that Snyder would never make it look like the gaudy cosplays were making a a straw-man argument.

I just feel like those people didn't get a fair shake, and it bothers me a bit.

Yes, that would have been awful. But like i said - that's clearly innacurate, but based on real info.

I bet that that guy, when he saw the real pics, felt silly for exaggerating the bronze/gold/brass look he'd heard about by making it way too obvious, but he wasn't WRONG wrong, just off in the degree of how noticeable it would be.

I have to say, when people defend the trunks (or something black and trunk-like in that area) as breaking up the suit to avoid the look of a naked grey man, to me these pics show they have a point.

You get used to it the more you look at it, and I'm sure the cape will help, but there really is kind of a naked grey man vibe here. Not a huge issue by any means, but I can't help but wonder what difference the trunks would have made.

Don't want to start this argument again, but the only bronze bits I'm seeing are in the belt, especially when looking at the rest of the pics.

Don't worry Bathead I'm not sparking an argument either. Through studies its been proven that people see colors and lighting differently. I clearly see it and 100% confident that I would bet money on it that they are dark "antiqued" bronze that matches that of the belt. Especially after zooming in on them. I'm pretty sure its not due to lighting, I see it. Nowhere near as pronounced as the cosplayers costume, but I really feel its there.

Again, like I said in an earlier post, it does no matter to me if were black or were to be black or bronze, I'm still just so happy we have a very Comic Accurate costume and I'm still amazed by it.

Agreed. It bothered me as well.

True. They were not wrong about those parts of the batsuit (belt, knuckles, boot tips, fins) being a different color than the rest of the get up, I'll give them that.

The belt breaks it up well enough. Thats like saying my jeans need to have trunks on them. I think the suit looks great.

Btw, a slight rust on metallic knuckles does not = bronze.

This.

Bronze or not, I thought it was pretty obvious they were at least metallic.

I don't think anyone was arguing that point, but there is a significant difference between "bronze" and "metallic".

It really, really doesn't matter.

I agree... This is the only reason why this debate exists. Some cosplayers claimed there were distinct bronze/gold elements and their costume interpretation suggested that it was garish.

To be fair, we still don't know if they were right about the knuckles/gauntlet blades and nobody was arguing about the belt having bronze elements.

Granted, the people who made those claims also said that their cosplays weren't quite accurate to what they had seen, but they also suggested they had seen the actual product, which I don't believe one bit. If they had, they wouldn't have made the "bronze" that garish. Clearly, they got a second hand account.

In that pic the gloves are reflecting the same light as knuckles/ blades (click to zoom):

Exactly. Someone told them the knuckles are bronze, they went home and googled bronze. Got these shiny orange, almost yellow images and went with it.
They're obviously metal, but any metal will shine bright when hit by light.

It's not like saying that at all... unless you're wearing a skintight outfit or are this guy:

I honestly still see a clear hint of bronze and the concept art for the suit showed the same. But like I said, it's only a hint and is barely noticeable in some shots.

Not arguing that there is not reflection there. I am saying that I feel very confident that the knuckles and the gauntlet blades are the same material as the belt. Which is of a metal that is NOT black, call it bronze, antiqued brass, rusted metal, call it whatever anyone wants but I'm willing to bet money that they are not black. It looks very dark antiqued bronze to me is the best way to put it. If they were solid black like several are proposing even with the reflection they would still be clearly black just like the gauntlets are reflecting light but are clearly black.
Again, not starting and argument over something so trivial. but I'm stating What I see and what others see as well.

I disagree with this, completely. The belt looks clearly bronze, like, no argument can be made there. The knuckles and fins do not look exactly like the belt. An argument can be made that they are not totally black if you will, but exactly the same color as the belt, which to me, looks clearly bronze? I don't think so.

To me, the fins and knuckles are much closer to metallic black than they are to the bronze belt.

I agree.

Lawd. Can't we all just agree that the knuckles and boot tips and blades are steel while the belt was at one point some yellowish faded shade of bronze but has almost totally faded to a grey color due to the suits wear and tear and age? Good lord people. We've been debating this forever and in the Ben Affleck thread we're talking about the guys marriage. Are we THAT thirsty again??????

I see what you are saying, yes good point. Well then my argument is that the knuckles and fins are definitely NOT black and share a color more close to the color of the belt. I see a very similar color and not black, I'd still be willing to bet money on this. I can now see where the Cosplayer got his idea from which he clearly used the wrong shade lol

Again guys and gals. I'm not trying to get anyones blood boiling or anything of that nature. I see a lot of people sharing a similar or same opinion as me and many of you opposing it. We will all know for certain soon enough. But if anyone wants to make a bet $ I'll put money on it for sure.

I think you are totally on point. Bravo Sir.
