I still don't understand why they went with a velvet like texture for the cape on the TDK trilogy suits.
Lindy Hemming wanted to give the cape an "animalistic" quality if I recall correctly. She thought a velvet texture would be reminiscent of a bat's wing or fur or something. I know, it makes no sense because bat's wings are skin and look leathery, but obviously the woman obviously never saw a real bat up-close or something. She also dressed James Bond, a British icon known for his Savile Row style, in Italian three-button suits with belts and loud 90s geometic pattern ties straight out of an episode of Frasier, so yeah...
