Regarding the under armour, i feel that when Bruce takes off the grey 'suit' which in my mind is a really thin, slightly stretchy kevlar type material - he is is literally bandaged up with armour, plates over every main organ and area, but they are shaped to look organic - so when criminals encounter him, he just looks this beast, rather than a bloke in hockey pads ;)

I actually really hope we see a scene where he has just taken it off and we can see his armour.

I'd like that too. But didn't Wilkinson say something along the line of, "This batman doesn't rely on armor" or something like that?

I hope not, as he obviously is wearily something as he is just too bulky otherwise.

But i guess armour and padding could be seen as two different things.

But then, Wilkinson's word fall flat cos Bats wears armour v Superman

There no way his regular cowl fits over that. I think it goes over his mask, maybe in the batwing/batmobile.

I agree with you...but, these films have a way of tricking us and showing it works when it doesn't...

We shall see...

I took Wilkinson's comments as that this Batman isn't as heavily armored as past movie versions, not necesarily that he was running completely unprotected. So within this movie universe I definetely believe that he has some armor pads in key areas that, just like other users have said, are shaped more like muscles to give that fierceful image.

Yeah, I just took his words as meaning the armor would be more subtle after the incredibly blatant armored look in TDK and TDKR.

I agree with two posts above.

Also, I took it that he won't rely all that much on armor to protect him (like Burton's Batman, for example, who would casually walk directly into the line of fire to show the thugs that he can't be hurt), but will still aim to dodge fire whenever possible, despite being armored.

We've already seen this Batman with bullet holes/marks on his chest. Dude is wearing armor.

If they ever decide to throw in a "suit up" scene with this Batman (I'm sure they will), we may have our question answered. Although I'd love to see how they interpret that kind of suit getting put on by just one man lol.

Considering the batsuit retains its defined musculature when not in use, it stands to reason that the suit is padded/armored.

I find it really surprising that there's barely any new photos of the batsuit on Twitter from NYCC. Found this better shot at the "Tech Cowl", which seems to have a voice modulator and obviously drop down lenses of some kind.

With all those tangling wires I think it's safe to assume it won't be in the Batmobile or Batwing.

Perhaps an accessory suited for the Batcave.

I honestly think this tech-cowl is just something that will be seen in the Batcave as one of Bruce's many gadgets and accessories, and not something that will be explained or featured in this story in any way.

Since this is a veteran Batman who has been active for quite some time, I imagine there we will see many gadgets in the background and different sections of the cave that won't really be used during this film.

Oh really? hadn't figured that out after the first image leaks..........:whatever:

Right. He might not "rely" on it, meaning it's not his primary defense, but that doesn't mean he doesn't wear any armor at all. Probably just enough light weight flexible fabric armor enough to stop a bullet from a lucky shot.

I just think it's what he wears underneath the mech suit armor.

Yeah, I think we will see the vaunted "prep" time and that will include him getting the armor ready for the fight. I think that Tech Cowl will go under the armor helmet and be linked into computer control of various parts of his battle plan.

I hope we see how detailed and high tech the armor actually is instead of it just being armor plating.

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing Bruce planning the fight, I hope there's a montage of Bruce getting ready for the fight; Putting on the armor, testing it, placing traps throughout the area with the (hopefully) wicked Batman theme blasting our heads off. :mnm:

I may not have been paying too much attention to this sort of stuff, but it this a third cowl outside of the normal suit and mecha suit?

We honestly don't really know. As others and myself have stated, it may be something for the Batjet or Batmobile, something worn under the Armor suit's helmet or who knows what?
