Fanboys take a dump on the previous incarnation as their way of showing excitement over the current one.
Nolan fans did this to Burton when Batman Begins first came out, and it'll probably happen to Batfleck when the next Batman comes around.

Dude, I was there for the lead up and during the premiere of BB, and there was a LOT of **** talk towards the Burton movies.Disagree. 90% of the crap talking Begins fans did was against the Schumacher films and they arguably deserved it especially the last film.
The Nolan films however were actually good and played a role really to get to the place where we are now with the DCCU.
I agree with your first part though.
I'm just waiting for people to start trashing Ledger and playing up Leto before I'm probably out of here.
Yup. I remember those Nolanite/Burtonite wars vividly.
It doesn't really seem like people are bashing the nolan movie moreso than just criticizing the costume and voice, which people had always done.

It's not retroactive nothing, I've always been somewhat disappointed with Bale's Batman, especially since I liked the casting choice quite much and that he is known for playing dark and intense characters well, so I was hoping that he'll bring more of that into the character. Unfortunately, he didn't. And I find that particular growl to be limiting his performance on more than one occasion. Anyway, that's my impression, and no one was able to change it since "The Dark Knight", so we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Again, I love those films, but I have always found Bale's Batman to be lacking in few departments.

None of this has anything to do with my expectations for BvS, although on that score, the latest trailer has me scared s***less that it's going to suck hard despite being hyped for it for the last two years.
I think Affleck could kill it in his solo Batman but I have a feeling BvS is going to be completely graceless. I really hope I'm wrong. The trailer sucked on the computer, but watching it before TFA... the whole audience laughed, and not in a good way. The music is an absolute embarrassment and I don't think they felt that way.
Ehh its probably really hard to get the mask like that. Its just unrealistic for a real life mask.
Yeah having the mask right on the eyelids is like the unrealistic deadpool style white eyes, its just not necessary.
I got the bvs trailer in front of star wars and it just got a couple woahs and some murmering, only laugh was at the "thought she was with you?" line.
The people complaining about the eye make up need to have a look at themselves because it's just not worth commenting on. You can't suspend your disbelief for the duration of a movie?
"thought she was with you" is clearly intended to get a chuckle out of the audience. Also not worth complaining about.

In regards to the costume? Yes his is more comic accurate but that doesn't make it better. Bale was still identifiable Batman.
And imo as it was show cased on film, even in harsh lighting is a better suit. And looked more believable as actual paramilitary or swat like real world armor. Modern knight like ... yet still retained the exact essence of Batman. He also looked quite intimidating.
The latter requires more atmospheric lighting for suspension of disbelief. Bale's given the use of more rigid and plated materials on the armor and cowl ... looks like actual armor.
Nolan went for more plausible.
Snyder went for more mythological.
Nolan's Batman looks like a practical warrior. Snyder's looks like an organic, living gargoyle ... with a textured suit that resembles Kevlar with armor underneath. But it definitely needs to be accentuated by atmospheric lighting or setting compared to Nolan's take.

You know, this really puts the TDK suit in context... and I loved the TDK/R suit, but here... yeah... the Batfleck cowl alone looks much better.
At least in the Hot Toys scult, Bale's cowl looks... off. Maybe it's the duck lips, but also... is it just me, or does the Bale sculpt look... crosseyed?
It has moveable eyes.
They sometimes end up looking like that.![]()
