I hate any pic of Batfleck (or any other past Batman for that case) that is taken with artificial/studio lighting? The suits are not meant for that, but I obviously get why. We still haven't gotten our dream Batfleck pick

I agree so much, but I have to take it a tad further... I feel like this Batsuit looks best in the dark, shadowed, and in action. Remember that first pic? The one with Batman standing by his Batmobile?

(spoilered for size)

This has been my favorite pic of Batfleck so far, and may, IMO, be the absolute best pic of him. I would do anything (that's legal) to get an HD poster of that pic to hang on my wall. It's such an incredible shot and literally defines Batman better than any character sketch could ever hope to.

I am almost a little afraid to say it, but in the Trinity shot and the "do you bleed" TV spot, I honestly don't think it looks that great. It looks... awkward and weird. A friend said it looks shiny... like it's a plastic suit. I don't agree entirely (it looks better than a plastic suit would look), but still...

And I'm really tired of the one single promo pic we have, with that stance that makes him look like he's about to fall forward...

The more important issue is... where did Batman find the time to take a dump? Does the Batsuit have a built-in toilet?

He took his dump when he was making the jump. His fear of death came back to him and he was scared ****less, literally.

I guess Tom Conti's character got the **** end of that stick.

I don't think he looks that great in the suit, to be honest. It depends a lot on the angle and lighting. I've seen pics where he looks great and others where he looks weird/goofy.

I'm still waiting for a clear non-moving pic of Bats on a rooftop. That is what I am waiting for and that will be a great moment when we actually see one.

I just want some promo pics of him doing another stance!

The stubble is a nice touch to differentiate. And yeah, it's suits Affleck.

As an aside, still amazes me how, IMO, the '89 cowl far surpasses all the others up until this point.

If I'm going to be honest, the Batman & robin one is the goat.

For me Batman Forever Panther/ Batman and Robin is the best of the Industrial Cowls from the Burton/Shumacher era. Costume it always seemed to me that the B&R suit "looked" more flexible then it was.

Nolan/Snyder have gone for the animal look.

The 89 cowl.......is a great first attempt but the Batman Returns cowl is a VASTLY superior cowl. It's got a nice smooth finish and the shape is very defined. The original cowl had a habit of scrunching.

From a purely aesthetic point of view the BR cowl is my favorite. The angular cuts created such wonderful silhouetting effects. And like the comics, there was no clear separation between neck and head. Just a straight line from the shoulders to the ears.

Having said that, the lack of separation between neck and head probably played a part in Keaton's inability to turn his head. And frankly, even if the material allowed for such flexibility, I'm not convinced the cowl would have looked as aesthetically pleasing if turned completely to the side.

But yeah. On looks alone, BR is the gold standard in my eyes.

Something about this picture makes him look ridiculous. The other angles look fine, but head on like this looks off to me. I just noticed that the mouth opening isn't flush with his chin too.

Flush with his chin?

You're joking right? Who the hell cares how his chin is flush? He's batman.

The Keaton cowls were basically stiff rigid unforgiving rubber. But really either your design the neck in plates or the material itself is just more flexible. BVS sacrificed a nice shiny cowl for this. TDK went with a plated neck and also separating the cowl from the neck.

Which honestly is all understandable. From the very first suit they had to get creative. I feel only the Arctic Batman bs suit from B&R is the only bad suit. It was lazy redesign of the sonar suit that served no purpose.

It will be interesting to see where the Batman suit goes from here. Currently it's a beat up suit. Will we see Bruce pull a nice new suit? If so what will that thing look like?

The cowl would look alot better if they just sanded the mouth opening so that you can't see the thickness of the material, like so:

I'm pretty sure they tried several cowls and the one we've got now has proven to be the best one on film. This isn't a comic where you can do whatever you want, with real world materials there comes issues like the cowl staying in place when he's moving his head etc.

I seriously doubt sanding the edges around the mouth would have caused any issues. The unsanded edges probably visually appealed to Snyder more or they just didnt think of sanding the edges. Shame the edges were left rough. It looks a lot better sanded.

Man the neck looks bad in that pic. I love a big neck but that thing is rounded.

It's not composed of a very rigid material; that's why. It was purposely made more pliable so as to allow better neck movement.

I can't wait until we get the new trailer so we see more of this beautiful suit in action.

It does feel as if, in general, people are still trying to figure out the best way to make a Batcowl that allows for full head movement. Nolan found an interesting way to do it, and Snyder seems to have found another way to do it, but I'm not sure we've got the definitive live-action Batcowl, yet...

But we'll see...

As technology advances, costume designers will naturally have better material to work with. That said, while I would have preferred a slightly less muscled bodysuit, the cowl itself is perfect to me.

With regard to neck flexibility, this is leaps and bounds ahead of anything we've ever seen before in a live-action film. If Bats swivels his head around any further, the presence of an exorcist may be required. Constantine perhaps. :oldrazz:

Honestly TDK / TDKR is still the best cowl. It's separation from the neck allows total movement. And it's made to look more solid like a protective helmet cowl as opposed to flimsy costume rubber.
