While Gunn’s track record with CBM’s is certainly encouraging, I remain cautious because this is the first one that feels outside of his usual wheelhouse. He’s doing something different here, which could be a great thing, but also could be like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. We just don’t know because he’s never done a character like Supes before. Which is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking for me lol. But like I said, cautiously optimistic. I at least know he has a better handle on what audiences want and is a competent storyteller, so that’s two things he’s got going for him that the last guy didn’t. In that sense, I AM pretty confident I’ll at least enjoy this better than the previous incarnation, which ain’t nothing.
Also, not listening to Sneider’s latest reports on the runtime or screening any more than his previous reports on this film.
