So what do we make of Variety mentioning Momoa as Lobo? Think he’s the villain here? In Supergirl? They mention it may also be for a solo project.
I think it's most likely a solo project, though he'll probably cameo elsewhere beforehand.

I'm not too worried about the prospect of him being the main villain here. That feels quite unlikely to me, even if he does appear some capacity.

Well, as far as rumors go, this was one of the longstanding ones out there. So, it's nice to have it all but confirmed, I suppose. However, apart from the fact that Momoa is what @Invader Joker would call a "hyper-traditional" casting choice for Lobo, I can't say that his prospective involvement in any Lobo-related projects particularly piques my interest.

And no, I don't see him playing a villain in Superman: Legacy either. If he does, it'll probably be something minor.

Amy Adams is a great actress but seemed much less vivacious, and the same goes for Bitsie Tulloch who does a decent job but whose Lois seems more stoic and serious.
I love Amy to death, she’s one of my favorite actresses, but alas, I think that her Lois is living proof that being a good actor doesn’t mean that you’re right for all roles under the sun.

If there was ever a definitive live action Lois, Bitsie would have to be it, IMO. The motherly iteration we get with Superman & Lois may lack some of the trappings we've come to expect from this character (she doesn't work full-time at the Daily Planet, for example), but no matter: her essential traits are still on full display. And Bitsie just nails it! I love that show in general because it pushes Superman, Lois, and the other characters to evolve, and that allows us an audience to venture into uncharted and often complex terrain.

I don’t think anyone who’s played Lois since has managed to pull off the quick talking, brave, smart and fearless persona whilst still managing to do it with a wink in their eye - Durance made it look easy.

Bitsie can be plenty vivacious at times. But she plays an older incarnation of Lois; hence, the more balanced characterization.

I'm inclined to agree, but at the same time, I think she would have performed better under the supervision of a different director.

Yes I think there was a world in which Amy could've been a GREAT Lois. That world just didn't involve the character she was written and directed to play here.

As great an actress as Amy Adams is, I've never looked at her & thought, 'that's Lois Lane'. The way she was written & directed didn't help change my initial opinion either because she was a little too serious, which in fairness seemed like what they were going for given the general tone of MoS, BvS & JL.

Same sort of problem with Kate Bosworth, too serious a lot of the time & the characterisation of her Lois Lane was quite unlikeable IMO. She comes of probably the worst of all the live action Lois Lane portrayals, however again, different director & writing might have helped her.

I think at the time of Man of Steel I wanted Rachel McAdams to get the part.

Great actors are miscast all the time. With Amy, she just never disappeared into the role. It never felt like I was watching Lois, just Amy Adams.

The problem I had with SV
( other than running 5 seasons too long ) was introducing villains and friends in Smallville that he shouldn't have met for several years down the road.
And kryptonite being the cause of most of the villains.

Amy Adams is by far the best actress who has been cast as Lois, a role with a serious pedigree behind it. Maybe the best actress ever to play the romantic interest in a superhero movie. She just got absolutely nothing to work with and a director who has a real talent for perfect casting ruined by poor direction and writing.

I'd say the best actress to play a romantic interest in a superhero film was Emma Stone. She also had to overcome bad writing/directing but still crushed it.

I always thought Amy was a better fit for Lana Lang than she was for Lois.

RIP Keith Giffen

Not hard to imagine his DC work will provide some influence on Gunn going forward.

To be fair, Mark Webb's "500 days of summer" was a magnificent romantic movie, which is why the Peter/Gwen relationship in AMS 1 and even 2 was, in my opinion, the best portrayal of a romantic relationship in any superhero movie.
Here is hoping that James Gunn one ups that.

While Webb's directing definitely played an important role, the chemistry between Andrew & Emma was truly just one-in-a-million lightning in a bottle.

Here's hoping that David & Rachel will be too.

I hope so! I want my Ambush Bug movie!!!

Get to wait even longer now on casting news thanks to the AMPTP.

Was disappointed when I heard Amy Adams was cast and was justified (IMO) when I saw the movie. Just…not good. Idk where the blame goes—the writing, the performance, the direction—but none of it clicked for me.

For me, best live action is by far Teri Hatcher (I haven’t watched Smallville nor Superman and Lois). So it’s really just her, Kidder, Bosworth, and Adams in my view; and I wasn’t alive when Kidder was playing the role. I actually liked Bosworth, even if she was probably too young (as was Routh) for the interpretation of the filmmakers were aiming to capture.

But everyone pales in comparison to Dana Delaney in the DCAU. Really think Rachel Brosnahan has the potential to capture that same energy though.
