It's cool I understand, you we're just stating your concers and there's nothing wrong with that.

It'll just be hard because Hulk is first and foremost a CG creation, and the only way it'll be seamless is when he's just hanging around in a scene with other humans, either talking or whatever. When he's fighting Thor, it could look REALLY stupid unless they do it right.
They can do it now. Just like Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I'm just curious, but based on everything that we've seen and read till now, are you guys happy at the direction of the film having Hulk presented in a more heroic light than he has in recent films?

Or would some of you have preferred them going down the Ultimates route where the Hulk isn't portrayed in such a favorable way?

-did I miss something cause thus far I know very little about how the Hulk will be portrayed???

Well from everything we've heard from interviews and the limited spoilers that we've gotten so far, along with the teaser at the end of CA, it seems like the Hulk will be portrayed in the film in a similar way to how they're doing so in the animated cartoon series "Earth's mightiest heroes", where he's portrayed more of a hero type.

In order for the Hulk to work in The Avengers he has to be heroic. Otherwise, he turns into just another villain that the real heroes have to deal with. Marvel wants to use the character in later projects so I doubt he'll be killing and eating civilians on screen.

This part isn't true imo, even though I want Hulk shown as a hero he could be portrayed as just a weapon that if pointed in the right direction can assist the Avengers.

This is my worst fear for Hulk's involvement here.

The charisma Hulk has shown in EMH goes a long way

EMH Hulk is boss, If Hulk's personality is similar to the EMH version in this film then I'd be one happy camper.

Heroic Hulk = :up::up::up:

I think he should be more coherent when he's not smashing ****. Basically when he's riled up he kind of reverts to savage but when he's just hanging around being somewhat calm he speaks in normal sentences, almost like he kind of blacks out during his rages.

This. I couldn't agree more with this assessment. Thats what I want out of the Hulk

I just hope they don't have the Hulk swimming around in pools or anything like on EMH.

That would be perfect :woot:

I'm somewhat torn on this subject. To me, the Hulk represents the deepest, darkest, most repressed feelings of Banner's psyche come to life. I've never liked the Hulk interpretation where he's through and through a hero, I like the ambiguity of it, because really, the Hulk only manifests (at least these versions) through anger. So in a way, he is somewhat like a scud missile, unleashed on particular targets he perceives as threats.

He's also child-like, in that manner, somewhat enthralled with child-like things, so that's the dichotomy I like. The Hulk in the Ultimates, at least at first, was quite ridiculous. I don't think anybody on either end of the spectrum wants a homicidal, cannibalistic, sex charged sociopath. Still, he is a monster, and that misunderstood, Frankenstein role is core to Banner's struggles, at least to me. Anytime any version, or interpretation gets too far removed from that, I can't really get behind it

I hope we get a couple scenes with Hulk and Hawkeye interacting like in the cartoon series also, their relationship was always the most humorous to me. Like a scene where Hulk and Hawkeye are just standing around or sitting with an awkward silence and Clint is like, "So, what do you in your free time, when you're like not throwing **** at people?" Cuing an angry glare from Hulk.

I'm totally with you on this. I'd like it to be shown that Hulk is a completely different person from Banner. He doesn't just turn back when he calms down and I like that about the recent Hulk movie. He sees Betty and doesn't just turn back. He picks her up and walks away and even shares a moment with her in the rain watching the night sky. Then later at the end he doesn't just turn into Banner. He runs off to do his own thing.

I'd like to see that Hulk really does just hang around after the big battles and he has to LET Banner back out or Banner has to fight his way back. That or he's tranqed or goes to sleep or something.

Ang's Hulk did show a calmed Hulk who didn't revert back to Banner aswell, after escaping the army he's just sitting, chilling out in the desert then Ross shows up in his helicopter.

EMH Hulk imo is the way to go for the general public too. Agreed that he shouldn't be swimming around in pools, or particularly talkative. But yeah, when he has something to say, say it.

Loved it when he told the guys at the Mansion for the first time, "You're late". To me, it's Hulkish because it's confrontational (otherwise he'd ask why are you late) but also humorous. I mean, the Hulk being the clockwatcher on the team- brilliant and unexpected!!!

I wouldn't mind a Hulk like in Superhero Squad, who never turns back to Banner even when calm or in a good mood, and makes funny comments. Does he even have the Banner identity in that cartoon show?

One opening "couch gag" showed him briefly turn into Banner, but hey.
