You're still arguing why they should or should not vote for a particular deal.

I'm only arguing that if Comcast makes a much sweeter offer, they would likely still need to consider it.

Would any offer be enough to delay the vote a second time? I have my doubts. Rupert comes out much better financially with the Disney deal. He also wants a significant position in Disney stock and his assets ending up with the Mouse. I think the vote goes on regardless of what Kabletown comes up with in the next few weeks.

And if the acquisition goes to vote, the risk to the stockholders is significant. With a no vote, Disney collects $1.52B and can either come back in with another offer or move on to another target. If that's the case Fox is down to one suitor, a buyer who may not meet governmental muster. The launch of New Fox, in which Rupert has invested billions in licensing deals, is further delayed.

I think investors will get a chance to consider Roberts' offer, but it will come during a yes-no vote on the Disney acquisition.

That's very interesting.
So if I am looking at this optimistically, my question, is if Comcast does not move before July 27 and the shareholders vote yes -- would the MCU at that point be able to legally insert teases/references into their upcoming movies?

Or would they still have to wait until the deal was completely finalized?

Perhaps this is moot for Captain Marvel -- but they may still have time to add something to A4 and certainly SMH2.

They would still have to wait for an official close.

BUT, since they’ve been working on this since last year, they could have, hypothetically, shot some alternate scenes. Some in the event they have the rights and others in case they don’t. And those alternate scenes could be included in the final cut of films coming out next year.

And even if they weren’t that proactive, they could still have some time to shoot some after-credit scenes and include them in next year’s films.

Here's Big Bang's reply to a few of my questions that covers this (and much more!) in great detail. Hope it helps!

Thanks guys. Hard to believe that in 3 weeks we may have our dream fulfilled. Although am I greedy enough to still think about Namor?

Yes, I am.

That article came from Nerdist not We Got This Covered. And the Nerdist article was nothing more than a speculative prediction.

That's hardly planting seeds for mutants or X-Men.

Bankers say Comcast may not bid on all 21st Century Fox assets Disney is set to buy: Gasparino

- Comcast is expected to make their move next week.

- Disney bankers believe Comcast will likely bid for only part of the Fox assets(most likely their international assets like Star India).

- Brian Roberts, Bob Iger, Rupert Murdoch will all be there at a media conference next week ...perhaps they will be there to discuss a comprise so Comcast stops mucking up the deal? (*AdollarAday is rolling his eyes & laughing at my ignorance with my wishful thinking, I bet).

Guys, to quote a certain dead sorcerer "we're in the end game, now."

Did a bit of digging, and according to this source, the Sun Valley conference, where "Comcast is expected to make their move next week", is set to start July 11th and "continue through the weekend and into next week".

Mark your calendars, folks!

Wait, did I miss something? Murdoch, Iger and Roberts will be together to discuss things? That's nice. At least it means all of them want this stuff to end.

I don't think they're there to discuss things. It's a 3-way Mexican stand off.

I don't think Disney and Comcast can have direct contact with one another over any deal with Fox though. Comcast can bid independently for the international assets, but Disney can't hold any talks with them over those parts. They can only have those discussions with Fox. Comcast can talk to Fox as well. So any resolution is going to come through Fox.

I think Rupert acting as broker in an unofficial capacity makes sense. I'm certain his preference is to have the July 27th vote go off as planned with his family ending up with New Fox, Disney stock and no tax bill.

Dark Phoenix star Sophie Turner recently had comments on the Disney/Fox merger in which she answered a question on which character from the MCU would she like to meet.

“Which Marvel hero would I like to meet? Iron Man, probably, because he’s so badass. Or… oh, God, I don’t know. All of them. All would be pretty awesome. I don’t know. There’s so many.”

“Just all of the Avengers, basically. I just want to be another Avenger.”

Sophie Turner wants to be an Avenger not just meet an Avenger!

So would you guys be interested in seeing the Fox-Men in the MCU or are you folks just content with Feige wiping the slate clean & recasting everyone?

I would still like to see the cast from Fan4stic integrated into the MCU so I could see Kentucky Fried Chicken Thing tried to get eaten by the Hulk because the Hulk mistook him for walking talking KFC chicken!

Recast EVERYONE (sans Ryan Reynolds).

Alexandra Shippwreck need not in the MCU.

Clean slate. Not even remotely close, lol.

Poor girl, never gonna happen

Feige will cleanse all that aren’t named Ryan Reynolds

Well she could show up as a different character. After all, Michael B Jordan and Chris Evans have shown up in the MCU after having been in Fox films. Although I guess none of the X-Men have in new roles.

I'd take Oscar Isaac as Tony Stark, assuming his return after sitting out Avengers 5 isn't some time travel/new body aged to young adulthood weirdness.

There's just no force in her Phoenix. Probably why we haven't seen a teaser for that movie yet by now.

She thinks she's going to make it into the MCU after the deal closes.

That's cute.

I think there's zero chance Marvel will keep anything from Fox and no reason they should.

I don't know if Dark Phoenix will be as bad as Fan4stic, but I'm nearly certain it won't be good.

Dinklage!! (Though wasn’t an X-Man.)
