The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 24

I think that could be highly dependent on implementation. If the Avengers just find Galactus and then stand idly by while he does all the heavy lifting, yeah, that wouldn't be very satisfying. But if, for example, they use Galactus as the distraction that gives them the opening they need to defeat the otherwise undefeatable, Thanos, I could see that working.

My thing with Galactus is I would like to see him as the huge threat they spend the next 10 films building toward. They could potentially do that with a brief appearance in A4, but my biggest fear is IF Galactus does show up, I don't want them doing anything that could jeopardize an otherwise potentially very satisfying slow, steady build toward a confrontation with Galactus in the future.
I much prefer the slow build route like they've done with Thanos. Makes the payoff much more worthwhile.

Its revelant to point out that one of the leaked Avengers 4 merchandise which revealed some costumes for Thor and Rocket had a description that did hint at the Avengers facing a threat bigger than Thanos.

Some have speculated that when Marvel made a deal with Fox to get the rights back to Ego The Living Planet in exchange for their permission to change Teenage Negasonic Warhead’s powers they also got another character from Fox: Annilhilus.

The wording from that toy package doesn't strike me as foreshadowing an entirely new threat. I took it as an indication that Thanos is a greater threat than Rocket had faced while with the Guardians. The so-called "journalists on fan sites predictably picked up a toy description and ran wild with it.

The Asgardian Thor wields the mighty Stormbreaker in his battle against new foes. Rocket teams up with a new crew to guard the galaxy from an even greater threat.

As for the potential Annihilation title, I suspect that may pertain to Thanos' goal in Avengers 4, rather than to Annihilus or any other cosmic threat. We know that the remaining heroes will try to reverse the snap in some way and that Thanos will naturally oppose them. My wild speculation is that Thanos, crazed as he is, might try to annihilate all life in the universe as he has many times in the comics.

Okay, let's go with that a second. That title maybe might, kind-of indicate an intent of Thanos (I'm guessing the annihilation wouldn't actually happen, but I guess we'll see :cwink: ). Is that a major spoiler? Since even you are speculating and the title isn't "Thanos intends to annihilate all life in the universe." I just can't see how it's a big spoiler that needed to be kept secret all this time.

That's what's perplexing me. IF (as seems more and more likely) the title is "Annihilation" and it doesn't imply something like Galactus or Annihilus etc., what's the big spoiler?

Hopefully that will be Fantastic Four.

Amid my S3 Daredevil binge, I realized: wasn't the decision from China on the deal supposed to be made today? Am I forgetting something?

The EU deadline was today but it got pushed to November.

There was a date of Oct. 19 mentioned in the article, but I don't think that was real. The author said a few things in the article that made me wonder if they really did their homework.

From the article:

"By far the most high-profile such deal under review by Chinese market regulators is the $71.3 billion Disney-Fox merger, which has a deadline of Oct. 19."

There's only one thing for it now. A Heroes for Hire show. They can't simply continue the regular Luke Cage story.

Maybe if they combine it will run for ages, mirroring the comics which took two books due for cancellation and combined them.

If those bastards canned Luke Cage but greenlight season 2 for that dry ass Punisher show, you know they are full of it.

I’m just under the assumption that Netflix is getting rid of their MCU due to Disney Play.

season 2 of punisher wrapped a few months ago...

Mike Coltor is a creep so I’d rather his show get canned then sit through a another season of his stiff performance as the character.

This cancellation is a good thing to me. Luke Cage is one of the weakest Netflix shows imo.

So less than 3 hours left before China has to approve?

I think they got the date confused. The EU were supposed to approve today but they pushed the deadline to November 6 due to Disney offering concessions in an attempt to speed up approval.

We don't know yet. If they cancel Jessica Jones too we'll know something big happened.
