"Come on Brazil and Mexico approve the deal already so this can be done by the New Year." End of rant, I know I am saying this but I am so impatient that I want this darn deal to be done. I know they have concerns but deep down I feel like boycotting them, but hopefully, things can work it.

Maybe Brazil didn't like that chase across their Favellas in TIH and are getting their own back. :o

Keanu reeves is 54 you don't want him in a role that will hopefully last 10+ years.

Yeah, Keanu would be a voice likely only at his age.

Not to mention that Wolverine is not even the best X-Men. It's just that the general audience doesn't know it... yet.
You are right. As someone who never read the comics, I always saw Wolverine as the best xmen. Everything I know about the xmen came from the movies, and sadly I never cared for or liked Cyclops and Jean, they are both boring. I liked Logan, professor, raven and magneto. I always saw potential in Storm, Iceman and Rogue but it never went anywhere. I want the MCU to get me to like Cyclops as much as you guys do, I want to see the Cyclops and Storm that everyone loves from the comics.

The movies made Cyclops and Jean boring. It didn't help that James Marsden didn't really seem as much leadership material as some of the others. In the prequel films they were even duller. The reason you like Mystique is because they devoted so much time to her, especially with Jennifer Lawrence, and promoted her to a main character and leader of the X-Men when she was never even that in the comics at all.

Marsden is actually a really talented actor and he could have did great in the role if he were given something to work with: something to chew on. You can tell that in X2, he did the best with what little he had. Too bad Cyclops was written to be nothing more than an obstacle to Logan

They could've had Jackman and Marsden do a sing-off. Both of them are talented singers.

Anyway, hopefully in the MCU we'll get Dazzler now and Marvel/Disney can tap into the musical genre. That is a potential goldmine waiting to happen.

Too bad Tom Rothman couldn't wait. Too bad Superman Returns had to be made.

I want to see Silver Surfer introduced with Galactus where we'll fear him at first then, as in the comics, he sacrifices himself for the Earth and gets banished here.

I want to see him as a noble, incredibly powerful and mysterious character before we get his full story in his own film... many years down the road.

As for McKay, he certainly wouldn't be my first choice, but I'd give him a listen. But he doesn't put his best foot forward in that interview. Speed Racer? Nope. That doesn't work for me.

It’s sad because Anna Paquin, Halle, Marsden and Famke all could’ve been good if they had better writing and direction at the helm.

Seeing Anna on True Blood shows she had some ‘sugah’ in her.

Welp! On to the MCU!!!

Not for me. Ss needs to be a tragedy more than a comedy.
You really can't say that any more. The Russos started out in comedy and they've delivered like 3 gems in the superhero genre. You just never know.

You just never know until someone takes a shot at it. He could totally be the guy for the job but you never know.

He said he would like to do it like speed racer. That is a no from me.

I think he only meant it being a big cgi spectacle. Not like speed racer in the sense that it was a ****ty movie.

Sometimes you do. IE Paul Anderson ;)

Brett Ratner.

I'm thinking he means that sort of visual stylization that blends the elements of a cartoon and film (Sin City might be another example), and I don't like that idea.

I want it to feel 'real', not intentionally stylized and self-consciously aware it was based on comic-book.

I thought Ang Lee's Hulk would have been better without the gimmicky comic-book swipes. They took me out of the moment every time he did it. Directing should be about immersing the viewer in a story, not showing how clever you are.

I would've been okay with the comic book panels in Ang Lee's Hulk if he hadn't done all those other things. Instead he thought we'd be interested to meditate upon a rock and philosophise about it for a few minutes, or give us Trank Hulk dogs that tore up the place, or a 15-foot baby-looking Hulk whom he originally wanted to run around naked.

In defense of Lee's Hulk and the CG, back then CG was not what it is today. So I hardly hold the way Hulk look against him entirely. There were limitations.

That said, that doesn't excuse the script, Nick Nolte being a walking cartoon (though he is only reason to watch the movie at all really) nor the fact Hulk growing like that as he got angrier was just a stupid idea. In short, I don't mind the CG for the era, but plenty of other mistakes were made.

If that had happened, I'd at least hope they wouldn't have done what Trank did to poor Ben.

At the time, I thought the CGI was very impressive. Looking at it now, there are a few cringy moments, but overall, I'm okay with the CGI and design - except for the size thing.

It's all the other story problems that I didn't like.

I'm totally up for a Silver Surfer film asap.

Adam McKay is a fantastic director of both comedy and drama. And Speed Racer is gorgeous and criminally underrated. A McKay directed film in the style of the Speed Racer is perfect.
