A part of the problem with Fantastic Four is that some of their villains are kind of too big for just them. Dr. Doom or Namor might be better used as Avengers or larger MCU villains.

Both characters easily could start in the FF film series, though. Namor I am sure no matter where used will be redeemed in the end, setting up a hero turn. Doom likely will be a recurring villain of the MCU, but I'd like him introduced with the FF before he branches out.

I don't have Hulu and I don't know if I would subscribe for revived Netflix shows. I've been finding myself less and less interested in the Netflix shows as they've gone on. I'm ready for something bigger and better from Disney +.

But I'd be more likely to subscribe if they had those shows than if they didn't.

I don't think they would put them on Disney+ simply because of how adult they are. I think Hulu is far more likely a landing spot.

They could have a channel called Disney 15+. Or Disney 18+. That could allow for these shows.

They won't do that. Disney doesn't put the Disney name on things that are too adult. That's why they own other labels.

As noted in their respective forums, no one is shocked, LOL! But I hope that these shows have a future at Hulu in a couple of years. At the very least for Daredevil and Punisher. I love all the shows, but I as of yet don't know how Jessica Jones wraps up so I cannot accurately judge how final it feels. I am also hoping if they bring back Iron Fist and Luke Cage, it is in a Heroes For Hire show.

Really hope they're rebooted

Agree to disagree on this one. But not really going to get into that debate again. My opinion on not supporting a reboot (especially of Daredevil) is well documented.

Yes it can be lip service easily, but the fact Hulu, Loeb, etc. all express interest in those shows continuing gives me hope that it is something that is on the table.

Even if there wasn't a non-compete period with Netflix regarding these characters, and rumors are that one exists, the chance of these shows moving to another streamer is close to zero. Interest had been dropping anyway due to the shows' uneven quality. Add to that the expense of renegotiating contracts and competing with Marvel shows on Disney Plus featuring ACTUAL characters from the MCU, and I don't see anyway the Defenders aren't D-U-N. The talk of them living on smells an awful lot like Feige saying there's a chance these characters would appear in MCU Proper. Meaning, there's no chance.

I’ve become less and less surprised with each show they cancel. Hope the characters somehow still have a future in the MCU.

I’m of the opinion that aside from Daredevil, the Netflix shows have been wildly uneven. Iron Fist , Punisher, and especially Luke Cage has major pacing problems and feel like they’re plodding along so they can stretch the length to be thirteen episodes, and if I being honest I’m not too heartbroken over the loss of those shows like I am with Daredevil. I thought both the second seasons of Punisher and Jones were pretty bad with some good moments sprinkled in throughout. Jones second season was a total mess with characters acting really stupidly(Trish I’m looking at you) and a lot of poor writing decisions. And to be honest the second season of Cage was also a total slog fest. I’m actually fine with Netflix cancelling both Iron Fist and Cage and hope those shows are never revived — I want a reboot or at least a recast of both of those characters.

On another note: I wasn’t excited at all about Jones season 3 after the bad taste it’s previous season left in my mouth so I was already going to hold off on it but this news has actually reignited my interest to watch the last season as I know for sure that it will indeed be the last Marvel show on Netflix . It’s just a shame that Marvel Netflix starting so strong with DD season 1 might end with a whimper with Jones season 3(I don’t have high expectations based of season 2).

Well if not DD, then Cage and Rand should be properly assimilated into the MCU proper with a soft reboot. There's still a lot of potential with these characters. More potential than keeping them in a pocket universe closed off from everybody else.

I mean, everybody seems to agree that the X-Men should be incorporated into the MCU, why not these Netflix characters?

Really hope they're rebooted
I could see feige wanting this if they integrate those characters into marvel studios because he didn't have a hand in shaping their shows, but I hope they become an exception.

DD, Punisher, Cage and the rest are all pretty great in their own right. They all deserve a shot on the big screen.

I am not going to say all these shows are coming back or anything, or any of them are. But I also think these characters are more likely come to back via Hulu than they are movies (with 2 exceptions). The MCU movies are using Shang-Chi, who effectively negates the need for Iron Fist. Plus, also avoids all the white savior debate and such. Jessica Jones I feel is not really a character in enough demand to get a film series. Luke Cage I would see as being more likely than the other 2 to appear in something, but even there I feel like he will be low priority. The 2 highest profile guys effected here are Punisher and Daredevil. They'd be the ones who can be in movies, but in Daredevil's case, the show is popular and has wide acclaim. Something will be done with Daredevil, and I don't think it is impossible for it to be the show continuing in some form.

So in short, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones I just think won't be used anytime soon and are done (movie or show). Daredevil and Punisher may have a future. I will say if these characters get "rebooted" I am hoping it is like Ruffallo to Ed Norton. I don't want to see origin stories. Just let them be established already and just leave their backstory nebulous enough for those of us that care about the shows.

My absolute preference though is bring them back into Hulu in their current form, while maybe merging Iron Fist and Luke Cage into 1 show.

I am not saying don't integrate them period. I am saying integrate them in their current form. That is what I want, and I think it is what we wanted from the beginning. So give the fans what we want. These versions already were built to live/exist in the MCU, unlike the Fox X-Men. So less need for a reboot.

But we've been through this debate, though.

Jeph Loeb hints the Netflix Marvel characters can continue in his letter:

Our Network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters… but you know Marvel better than that.

As Matthew Murdock’s Dad once said, “The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it’s how he gets back up.”

To be continued…!”

Cox, D'onofrio and Jon Bernthal should be brought over at the very least. They've all done pretty great work on the big screen, well, I definitely know d'onofrio and Bernthal have. But Cox has the chops to be in the films too.
