I hope not. It would just be too much. Gunn was wise enough to realize adding Adam Warlock to the second movie was a bad idea and would've over-crowded things.

Depends what you mean by overcrowding. Adam Warlock was hinted at at the end of Guardians 2. That didn't overcrowd anything. He could do the same with Silver Surfer. It's not like Adam Warlock was a whole separate plotline in GOTG2 that took up screen time or anything away from the main story.

Adam Warlock was originally in the script and was going to be an adversary sent by the Sovereign people after the Guardians during the film. He realized that didn't work and instead just teased him at the end.

You can't introduce Silver Surfer that way.

A bit off topic but looks like Shazam is getting great reviews 97% on rotten tomatoes. The DC come back continues. Wonder Woman, Aquaman and now Shazam. Great seeing the competition do well.
Indeed. As much as I'm content with Disney buying Fox(despite the job losses) I would never want them to buy DC/Warner Bros.

Marvel needs competition. DC gives them that.

So I think we can pretty much work out what phase 4 is going to be. I may be one or two films off and it may not be in this exact order but I feel pretty confident in this list.

Black Widow (5-1-2020)
The Eternals (11-6-2020)
Black Panther 2 (2-12-2021)
Doctor Strange 2 (5-7-2021)
Shang-Chi (11-5-2021)
Captain Marvel 2 (2-18-2022)
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (5-6-2022)
Ant-man 3 (7-29-2022)
Fantastic Four (Feb or March 2023)
Avengers 5 (April 2023)

Spiderman 3 could also appear in 2021 but that's for Sony to date not Marvel.

Next year looks a tad underwhelming for MCU. Good that DC is going strong for an alternative.

Yeah but only after they ruined their three biggest potential franchises.

They tried to make Avengers happen before they had established their other solo heroes.

Can't wait for Black Widow, been waiting for her solo for years, that thing is gonna do gangbusters at the boxoffice.

It's a strange dichotomy, Marvel didn't have access to their A-listers, so they turned to their B-listers. DC ruined their A-listers, so they had to turn to their B-listers.

Yeah, before Gunn was fired I was at least looking forward to Gaurdians Vol. 3 but that movie has obviously been pushed back and sorry I don’t care that much about a Black Widow prequel (though it does have a rather promising director behind it).

I’m kind of looking forward to the Eternals since I do like it when Marvel turns a obscure weird property(Guardians comes to mind) into a cool film and like when Marvel goes go uncharted places. Plus I suspect that movie will be the very first film to plant seeds for the Mutants in the MCU since the Eternals are linked to the X-gene in the comics.

Beyond Endgame and Spider-Man I’m really excited about Marvel doing their take on Fantastic Four and X-Men in the future but something tells me it’s going to take awhile for them to touch those properties especially X-Men since Dark Phoenix is coming out in theaters.

But the comfort in knowing the First Family and The Children Of Atom will forever be back home with Marvel makes the wait that much bearable. It’s only a matter of time. :D

I hope they give ant-man 3 the Ragnarok treatment. Give it a complete make over. It needs it badly. Get a new director. Peyton Reed can still produce since I'm sure he would have input. Maybe they'll give him FF.

Why would you think they'd give him F4 if antman needs a make over. Why saddle them with that?

Peyton Reed isn’t a great director and I prefer a more inspired choice for FF. Peyton Reed directing a FF wouldn’t excite me the way Travis Knight directing FF would. Reed is an adequate journey man director not one of the visionary standout Marvel directors like James Gunn, Taika Waikti and Ryan Coogler. His style is pretty bland and leaves no distinct stamp on his work, imo.

After the Duffer Bros. handling FF I kinda think F. Gary Gray should be given a shot at a CBM. I think he could do FF quite well. He has a knack for ensembles and this isn't all that sprawling a cast so it might even be a breeze for him.

Still... I'm hoping the Duffer's get tapped. The FF need their James Gunn. A director who will put a stamp on the film, a distinctness to their cinematic identity.

Well he already wrote a script some years back and he's been in the press a while back talking about his idea how it was set in the 60s. That's why so many people want him to do it. He does seem to care about the characters like you I worry about his visual style and it just looking bland.

Im torn. The Duffer Bros could do either X-men or FF well. Stranger Things seemed heavily influenced or at least inspired by the X-men as well.

They would be a good choice for X-Men as well, I agree.
