The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 24

It will forever bother me that fox had access to some of the greatest marvel villains and failed to take advantage of them. Doom, galactus, surfer, annihilus. So much potential wasted.

Not only the villains, but Fox failed to take advantage of- and I mean truly capitalize on- nearly all of the heroes they had access to as well. Really paints a picture.

Feige was a associate producer on the original X-Men so very low on the totem pole when it comes to influence on those films. Lauren Schuler Donner was his mentor and showed him the ropes, and that was his first big gig. It was quite rare that Singer would ever take any of his suggestions. He has said this several interviews.

Do you remember where you found any of these interviews? I've only read the one about Wolverine's hairstyle, but I don't think I've heard much else. Not that I don't trust your statements (it is Fox, after all), but I just want to know exactly how extensively they ignored Feige's ideas.

Kinberg: “I think there’s going to be a lot of mixing and merging now.”

:funny:

Has no one told him yet that Feige will do a hard reboot of the X-Men now?

Is he completely delusional?

I guess in fairness, he can't really admit how worthless this film is before it even comes out.

Stahp. He's only doing his job :funny:

But in all fairness, Kinberg may be talking about X-Men general and not his films?

In fairness, it mentions the Twilight Zone there as well. That's not about the movie but where he's living. :o

Not just Fox but remember Feige was a associate or executive producer on pre-MCU Marvel films besides the X-Men ones. He had small involvement in the original Sony Spider-Man films and even that Ang Lee Hulk movie! They must of ignored his suggestions extensively if Feige is looking back at his pre-Marvel Studios career like this.

Feige: In my seven years, from 2000 to 2007, before we started Marvel Studios, you can see movies that worked and the movies that didn’t work. Well, we suggested this, but they didn’t listen.

Favreau: What the studios had done, typically, is ignore the core fans because they only represent a small fraction of the potential audience and focus on the mainstream audience. Kevin had had the experience of partnering with other studios and he had had the frustration of those concerns being ignored.

Feige: We didn’t have the control. I hated that. I remember thinking, If something’s not going to work, I’d rather it be because we had what we thought was a good idea and it just didn’t work, versus, we were unable to convince the decision-maker to do x, y, or z.

I would like to believe that but the way the interviewer phrased the question and the way he answered it. It would seem(to me at least) that Kinberg meant the currently existing Fox X-franchise can crossover with the MCU and vice-versa.

I wouldn’t put it past him to be this delusional. After all he has gone on record and said this.

It would be fun if some of those same people who were in control before and ignored Feige are now working under him. Maybe Kinberg ignored Feige's suggestions before, and now he wants to be heard.

Well, Kinberg has to play the game even if he knows what is going to happen

So now Silver Sable runs a beauty salon instead of being a mercenary?

As far as the biggest lie he has ever spewed, I'm not even sure that would rank in the Top 5 anymore.

Yuck. Why are we talking about Kinberg?

He'll get his useless executive producer credit on future X-Men films and we'll never have to hear from him again. God is good.

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to taking some pleasure in reading the reviews for Dark Phoenix ... which are sure to be loaded with snark.

You cant help but feel bad for the New Mutants cast being strung along like this. I hope Disney updates them soon on whats going on.

Still boggles my mind how Fox couldn't put together a coherent cinematic universe. They had X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool. If done right they could have competed with the MCU.

Don't forget Daredevil and Elektra! They screwed the pooch on that one too.

I would like to see him in another comic book film outside of Marvel Comics. Maybe a Kingsman film.
