I find it extremely hilarious right about now, that pics of older spidey films and such is being posted to try and prove something about the fate of Gwen in a whole other Spidey franchise. Like, really!? Too many (pretty out there) comparisons are being pulled out in order to try and pin-point what'll go down in TASM2... I'll save you the trouble: She ****ing dies! Can we move on. This is honestly getting too silly :-)

True. I mean I'm not saying Gwen won't die, odds are she will, even though I don't want Harry to kill her. I'm just saying I don't get why people are saying they're 100% certain of it. Unless they've seen the movie or a shot of her clearly dead in Peter's arms or her grave, they can't be 100% sure.

I'm not 100% sure she'll die in this one, I would say I'm about 97%.

Lol agreed.

^ Man, you're trying real hard. I applaud the effort, but come on!

Ok, how about this...

Here's the pic of Peter when he realizes that Gwen is dead!

Find me a pic like this, with tears streaming and being this distraught, and then I'll still laugh at you and point to the fact that we're at the bottom of the clock tower after we just saw Gwen falling while dressed in the same clothing as The Night Gwen Stacy Died!

that's just a shot of a 2 seconds capture from a trailer. he could be caught in many poses.

No, it wouldn't be a costly waste of time at all. Because, literally, all they've done is made a few leading comments. That's it. They made leading comments at interviews that were going to be scheduled regardless and that they had to be going to...they didn't specifically organize said interviews to make these comments.

So no, it's not a costly waste of time at all. In fact, there's been absolutely NO extra cost for them to do what they've been doing on Sony's part.

And yes, it's exactly the same thing as being coy about a plot point, actors/directors do it all the time to retain a sense of mystery. And if this is a fakeout, it easily could have a point, as I illustrated in my last two posts.

Granted, I think it's likely she may die in this one, and if it's handled well I'm sure I'll enjoy it. But at the moment, I'm definitely not a fan of Harry being the one responsible, and MJ not being introduced yet. It also doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me that they seem to be building up Norman as the big bad of this series...only to have him NOT complete the one act that made his character truly iconic.

this. what's Norman's role in this franchise ? what was he build up like this if not for Gwen to be killed by him

^ Here's the clip in it's entirety. I mean there's the slim chance that it's taken completely out of context, but we all know what popped into our minds when we first saw it.

Anyway, Andrew definitely makes a lot of interesting expressions.

Still doesn't beat Tobey in that department.

Haha, agreed. And I agree that odds are, that's what it is. I just think it's silly for people to be SOOOO sure of it. Even if they're right, and they probably are, it's still silly to just not be open minded about the thing. I don't get why they even want to watch the movie if they're so certain about how it's all going to go down.

Actually, it's a shot of a 2 second capture from the trailer at the bottom of the clock tower.

See, you're totally disregarding the evidence that Peter being this distraught is happening within the clock tower, after we've just seen him prevent Gwen from dying once, crashing through the glass domed ceiling, fighting the Goblin, jumping down to save the woman he loves with his webbing, then fighting with the Goblin again (on the same cog that Gwen was just on, I might add), while Gwen is nowhere to be seen, and then Peter diving down with Gwen plummeting, while we see Gwen falling with her feet upwards in a very similar position as she was caught with Peter's web in the comic The Night Gwen STacy Died while Gwen is wearing the identical clothes as she was wearing when she dies in The Night Gwen Stacy Died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So yeah, maybe that shot is out of context and he's actually happy because him and Goblin are going to go get ice cream!

I think saying it's taken "out of context" and is only "2 seconds" from a trailer in which he could be caught in "many poses" is a weak argument.

He's in the clocktower, no doubt at the bottom. Only people involved in the clocktower sequence are Peter, Gwen and Harry. There's only a very small amount of things it could be related to. Unless he pulls that face as he's yawning the yawn of all time or something.

"I think the intention the whole time has been to tell Gwen's story as closely to the comic as possible. That's been the director's idea and the studio's idea. We'll see if that comes to fruition."~Emma stone

She's dying in this film I'm sure of it.

I hope you were joking… Harry Osborn in the Raimi series had a completely different relationship with Peter Parker than he does in Webb's.

We have very different ideas of close to the comic.:funny:

that's the point. they are trying to set US up, to make us think that she'll die.

I think captain Stacy's dying words to Peter, are more of a foreshadow to Gwen's death in the next film, then people are giving it credit for.

I think this argument just keeps going in circles. Let's face it, some people are convinced and some people are skeptical. We should probably just leave it at that.

Nobody is taking the Laundry Sheriff seriously enough... My gut tells me Gwen and her neck will die by her hands...

The only reason he was screaming was because he forgot to pick up organic eggs before he left and had to go all the way back to the grocery store.

I laughed so hard at this my girlfriend walked out of the room lol

I do find it odd. Again, if it's handled well, I won't mind it. But as it stands now, if they do kill her, there are a lot of things I wouldn't like about the decision to do it in this film.

And again, while it certainly hints at her death, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility at all that they're doing a bit of a bait and switch. I mean honestly, haven't we learned our lesson about making assumptions off trailers by now? X3 and SM3 had people frothing at the mouths. The trailers made the films look epic, dark, and gave you the vibe that we were in for the treat of our lives. They were great trailers, wonderfully edited. Unfortunately, they also completely misrepresented their films, and the tone of both films. Trailers can be incredibly misleading, either by accident or design.

This is not a laughing matter! :hehe:

The repercussions of the Laundry Sheriff are nothing to joke about.

This. And saving the kid in the same fashion, and throwing Gwen out the window, and Peters promise at the end. Really even without the trailers that foreshadowing alone is enough. I've been saying from the beginning that she'll die in TASM2. Of course there's like a 1% chance she won't but I seriously doubt she will live past this movie. You can only do so much foreshadowing before it becomes...forelighting? Like a lightbulb in your face you want to switch off because its too blinding.
