The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Scene Gwen Stacey Died - Part 2

We'll probably see Gwen after she dies through illusions/flashbacks and such. However, I actually wouldn't mind at all if they brought her back in the future via a reworked version of the 1970'S clone saga (without the 90's garbage or the Miles Warren/jackal obsession story or the Ultimate Carnage Gwen stuff). Some of my favorite moments from that:

Resurrecting Gwen isn't a terrible idea in and of itself(I'MO), but it is something that would have to be handled with care.

As far as the Clone Saga goes, I'd love to see somebody do a live-action retelling of the way it was paid homage to on/reworked for the 1990s Spider-Man Animated Series.

I hope they don`t bring her back [BLACKOUT]if she does die in ASM2 [/BLACKOUT] now if they did something like Peter sees her and he is the only one that can see her like in Smallville after [BLACKOUT]Clark`s Dad died in one episode he could see him and talk to him but no one else did [/BLACKOUT] now if they did that that would be some good scenes for Peter and Gwen she could tell him it wasn't his fault and that she will always love him and that he needs to becomes Spider-Man again if he quiet`s being Spider-Man.

So mean! But that evil twisted aspect needs to be shown in one of these movies!

Hello, I'm new to this place.

I would like to open a side note to inform you about a user you might remember (Batdetective) because I'm one of his best real-life friend and he refered me here.
He asked me to tell everyone here he apologizes for his behaviour.
As he hinted, Batdetective is very, very sick. We had to take him in an institution where doctors can take great care of him.
He's been fighting severe depression for six years, since the death of his young wife.

I have been browsing his computer data and found each of his posts here.
And I have to agree with my friend about The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
We know each other since the age of 12 and we've been huge nerds/geeks, esp. about Spider-Man and Batman.

Now, to the main subject...

I'm not too fond in the idea of killing a main character because I believe most directors can't handle it right. When it works, it's truly magnificiant; when it fails, it's just lame and useless.
Webb is a great director and he has proven it over time. I'm not as stubborn as Batdetective in the concerns of killing Gwen but I think the evidences people here are pointing out are...false (if that's the appropriate word)

The big ''proof'' is the 3 second clip of Peter seemingly crying. That facial expression of ultimate despair. Only the death of your signifiant other could create a such face...
NOT!

When I rushed to his house, six years ago, Batdetective didn't scream in pain from the top of his lungs.
He had a mental ''blue screen of death''. He wasn't ''there'', like if he has been disconnected from reality. He didn't speak for months.

So when I see movies where the protagonist loses his loved one and scream in agony, I don't buy it. This is not realistic, to me. There is no scream powerful enough to express the pain you're facing. Your brain just can't ''accept'' the reality so it just shuts down for a while.
And no, this is not an opinion, this is psychology. It's called a mechanism of defense.

Next, I really don't mind the idea of Harry killing Gwen, but I have a problem with Peter not killing Harry if he does it. The whole concept of power and responsability isn't so central in this series, Peter is pretty much uncaring.
Thus, I highly doubt this kid would fight his girlfriend's murderer, almost killing him, then realizing he's going insane and sparing him.
This is also unrealistic to me, right in the moment where your loved one is killed, you have a sudden moment of clairty and you let live the murderer? Are you kidding?

If Webb and his team like to follow non-canon, I'm fine with it, but let's take it to the extreme. I wanna see Peter pulling a General Zod on Harry. Yeah, I wanna see Spider-Man breaking someone's neck.

Because I feel this would be the only human reaction to have. Esp. if Peter is not as responsible as he is in the comic book.

So yeah, would you like to see Peter killing Harry? Or am I alone? :yay:

PS: My nerd side wants to see faithfulness toward source material, but I would be ten times happier if Gwen lived. Because I know Batdetective would be so happy about it. I just want to see my old friend smile again, more than anything. I wish his prayers will be heard.

Gee, it doesn't sound like you are actually Batdetective pretending to be someone else at all.

My sarcasm sense is tingling. But I forgive you, it does sound like so.

My bad I should've worded that better. I meant like recently after her death? Or maybe it doesn't say..
It doesn't say. This series first came out in 1999, so I'm assuming it takes place around the same time as the comic books of that time. If I recall correctly, there was an issue that actually referenced the novels (someone who worked for 'the gentleman'), so these books are supposed to be cannon.

I'm wondering the same think Picard lol. But if not than welcome to the hype man. And I think I'll let Super Jim handle this haha.

The proof is not just the three second clip of Peter crying, I'll tell you that much.

That's not nice. He warned me about it and maybe he was right. I have known the guy for more than 10 years and live with him since 3 years.
I was refered to this place because I was told it was a great place, and after ONE comment I get accused of being a phony?

Look, I just wanted to find a place where people share my love for comic books and movies. Nothing else.
I just gave a side note concerning my best friend because he asked me so. That's all.

Well, to be honest, its not only difficult to buy your story, but you sound just like him.

EDIT: Maybe a moderator can see whether or not PrinceRoy has the same IP address as BatDetective?

Of course I have the same IP as him, I just said that we have been living together for 3 years! We share the same computer!

Was BatDetective ever banned though?

Believe it or not, I live with other people and we all have separate computers. And if you really cared about talking about Spider-Man, then you should have come here to just talk about Spider-Man. If Batdetective was really "institutionalized," I don't think he would want you giving away his life story on the internet.

Was BatDetective ever banned though?

No, but he flipped out and said he would never come back.

Well good for you if you and you friend all have separate computers. But believe it or not, not everyone is rich enough to afford that. That was a very condescending remark.

For your infirmation, I did talk about Spider-Man. I expressed my interest into the idea of seeing Peter killing Harry. I feel this would be realistic since the Peter from the movies is very different from the one in the comics and I asked if anybody out there liked that idea. True or false?

And please, don't ever speak for Batdetective. You don't know him, you don't know what you're talking about.

Screaming isn't realistic? I'm sorry, but I lost my uncle in September (on my birthday no less) and at his funeral my grandma (his mom) screamed like I've never heard anyone scream before. She couldn't help it. She just did it. So don't act like you know everything about how people act when they lose someone they love more than anything. Grieving differs from person to person.

Me personally I don't want Peter to kill Harry, and especially don't want him to pull a Superman and snap Harry's neck. That's just completely out of character.
