He's judging the film purely on the fact that he didn't get exactly what he wanted, rather than judging it on its artistic merits (which is what he should do). Same with Lemure woman or whatever her name is. Her complaint is that Nolan didn't bring Ledger back from the dead and have him star in this movie too.

And that tom hardy wasnt sexy as bane...she wanted to see hardys lips!

Make no mistake, Faraci is a smart guy and a good writer...but he's a pretty unlikeable dude for many people. Pretty much every tweet, comment or opinion he's posted this entire summer movie season has given me a gag reflex.

Screw you RT

Just saw that. Is that suppose to be a positive review then?

I read that Hollywood Reporter review, it was very positive. RT is full of ****, as usual.

The rotten icon is just a glitch. It isn't counting against any scores.

:hehe:

Your assessments of Faraci's and Lemire's reviews are pretty narrow and incorrect.

Faraci has a genuine problem with the way in which Nolan presents the material, sure. But he's also got substantive problems with the material. An not digging Nolan's style is also fair game. There are valid criticisms to be had there.

As for Lemire, I don't think her sole complaint was no Ledger, it was no spark. And she brings up about fifteen other things as well.

I'm not saying I agree with either of these reviewers. How could I? I haven't seen the picture. I'm saying the attempt to contort what they're saying or demean it simply to preserve your preconceived notions or hopes is just silly.

Yes it is. His review was very positive. He said good luck to anyone who follows Nolan's trilogy because "you're not going to top this." He even said it's arguably the best trilogy in popular cinema.

On RT, just look at the average rating given by Top Critics.

That is a fairly good indicator about the quality of a movie.

Sounds like The Washington Post has a positive review incoming

Really, there is no need to fret or fly off the handle about “The Dark Knight Rises” because it is the most compelling film of the summer. Yes, it’s better than “The Avengers.” In my view it will not disappoint even those who, one year ago, marked the July 20 release date on their Microsoft Outlook calendars, then blocked out all of July 21 with an appointment entitled: “Stop Living, as Life’s Purpose Will Have Been Fulfilled.” Post film critic Ann Hornaday is in the process of filing a review that will be published online later this afternoon.

There's more than a whiff of troll coming from you.

The thing that I find funny is that so far half of the critics who have given it a rotten, on rotten tomatoes actually seemed like they enjoyed the movie in their reviews. For example if you read Louise Keller's entire review, it comes across as pretty positive with virtually no criticism besides the length. And even more illogical is Devin's review, which criticizes the movie for being full of contradictions when his own review is contradictory as well. I don't understand how you can say a movie is "wildly entertaining" and then simultaneously say its a bad movie. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me if something is wildly entertaining to you, doesn't that mean you must have liked it? I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure I've never been entertained but something I didn't at least like..
Opinions don't have to be black & white. I loved the visuals of Prometheus but hate the story and characters. I thought it was entertaining enough to be worth seeing, but I don't think it's a good movie.

Oh my. What a shocker. The guy with the screename that features something from the avengers going around and furiously defending any critic that gave TDKR a negative review.

Ignored.

Um... I love Nolan's Batfilms.
I have no clue what my screen name has to do with that.

But hey: more narrowness!

If you want me to really blow your mind: I don't like Diet Pepsi, but I prefer Diet Coke. But I like regular Pepsi more than Coca Cola Classic.

Crazy, right?

Not to rag on RT, but there's been some fishy stuff going on with a couple of these reviews. It's still early. People are loving the movie. Give it until Thursday morning before jumping to conclusions, folks.

Its owned by Warner Brothers don't you know! Sabotage! oh wait...:oldrazz:

Kirk Honeycutts review didn't seem rotten? wtf?

why does faraci care about Bruce quitting for 8 years when from many accounts he dosent even care about the character of batman?

nvm its already being discussed lol
