Are you denying that Ledger was the greatest asset of TDK and the biggest reason for its critical acclaim? I can point to a number of reviews that basically admit they think TDKR is weaker because it doesn't have Ledger's performance.

That's what Drew said alright, but I suspect that was aimed more at the Bat fanbase.

Just finished watching B89. Surprised by how well Keaton's performance holds up, but Jack's Joker just feels too cartoonish compared with Heath's.

Now see right here, this is a constructive and relevant way of looking at The Joker's and implicitly Ledger's absence in TDKR. The 'it's not as good as TDK because of the absence of the Joker' reasoning was getting quite tiring.

Nah, just saying that Nolan's greatest asset in BB and TDKR was not Ledger. It's insulting to all the other actors.

WB might have poisoned the well with Ebert when they pulled that embargo nonsense. As far as a 2.5/4 being negative, no it is not. Anything above 60% is considered positive unless the reviewer asks for it to be listed as negative. 2.5/4 is 62.5% and the words in the review are more positive than negative. But who knows, maybe he'll ask them to label it negative.

Its important to all of us otherwise we wouldnt be here. A couple negative reviews wont affect the publics opinion of the film and it shouldn't affect you the way it is.

The Prestige is a better film than TDK (or BB for that matter), and probably better than TDKR as well (still need to see TDKR before judging). So yeah, it's not like RT is perfect at judging the quality of films. Matter of fact, history is littered with films that weren't universally acclaimed at first but became more appreciated over time.

What's interesting to me about TDKR is the constant, I meant constant references to Ledger's Joker. Not even in the movie and still having an impact on this movie. I have to see it myself, but I'm not convinced it's getting an entirely fair shake if people are comparing it to TDK and wanting another Heath Joker. The Batman fans who have seen it seem to be gushing a lot of praise for the fact that it ties back in so well with BB. Critics might not give a damn about that aspect of it, but I sure do.

And the best film that Christopher Nolan ever made is still Memento. IMHO

It's kinda coming off like you're having a panic attack, bud. It's just a movie and reviews mean so very very little in the grand scheme of things. The general consensus is that TDKR is good, maybe even great. SOOOO my advice to you is to take it down a notch, and at 12:01am on Friday, sit back and enjoy the ride. It's just a movie. It's just a movie.
