Dude, it's basically noiseless. In the movie, it sounds exactly like an electrical motor. You can't hear an electrical motor if you're inside a car or a helicopter, hence, "stealth mode".

I thought stealth mode was the coolest thing when I first saw BB. I still think it's awesome but I can definitely admit it's kinda far fetched.

The bat-pods little "ascending" sound is pretty hard not to catch. It's a cool little addition to the bad-ass-ness of the bat-pod.
