Still on the fence about this new film. Newest trailer didn't sway me either way. As stated by others, I'm disappointed by Eisenberg's over the top performance. Dialogue seems pretty good and I love the new batplane over Nolan's 'bat'.

The trailer was ok, but the one in July had me more excited. I am not feeling particularly excited after that one, but it hasn't put me off seeing the movie either. I am surprised that they gave away so much in this one (although the ending was pretty obvious, but we were not sure which villain they would team up to beat and now we do). I liked Lex in some scenes and not so much in others. It will be easier to judge Jesse's performance when I watch the full movie. My idea of Lex is more similar to the 90s animated series and not as hammy as Jesse seems to be playing him, but I will still judge his performance and interpretation on its merits when I see the movie and not just disregard it right away because he does not fit my ideal version of the character.

The film being humorous and campy (in the right ways) may be its saving grace. The overarching plot (that can be guessed from the trailer anyways) is very goofy and comic booky. I was dreading that going for a super serious tone like the previous trailers and MOS would just put under the microscope the goofy underbelly of the film all the embarrassingly more. But this trailers tone reassures me that it will at least be a big, dumb, fun movie, if not a good one.

Let Apocalypse be the dramatic and serious movie. Singer is better at that stuff anyways.

I do agree that the plot and concept itself is goofy, so i don't mind the humor balancing that out. It's everything else i have a problem with.

I read somewhere that it looks like a good PS4 exclusive. I couldn't help but laugh out loud and agree at the same time. Everything from the explosions to the slow-mo shots, to Abomination...errrrrrr Doomsday, Superman in action and Batman using his grapple gun. It's like a video game trailer. It doesn't look real to me. Im only liking the character stuff with Bruce/Clark and how Batman looks and sounds. Lex may as well star in Infinity Wars at this point. Maybe he should meet the Guardians of the Galaxy while he's at it. Make some nice wink wink / nudge nudges to Star Lord and Drax.

I have to say, I did chuckle at the totally understated "Oh sh**" when Batman thinks he's about to be turned into ash by a humongous monster shooting heat vision out of his face. It is like the biggest possible signifier that we're no longer in Nolan's "reality", but I like the way Batman's reaction is clearly WTF yet still totally keeping his cool.

We've definitely come full circle back around to a more comic booky Batman, the only difference this time is it's being done by people who truly love the source material and aren't making fun of it.

The Bat-voice is growing on me...it's basically Keaton meets Bale. You have Affleck delivering lines in a more Keaton-esque, calm way but you still get the larger than lifeness of Bale's through the effects processing. It still sounds a bit mechanical for my taste, but I can definitely see this being approach that works for a lot of people.

The humor works a lot more than MOS, already. Well, not so much with Lex.

I like both the "oh shiii" and the "I thought she was with you" lines. I actually think I liked all of the lines that both Bruce and Batman had.

Superman is still looking awesome, and WW looks like a badass. I don't have a problem with Lex, I'm just not a fan of the design for Doomesday. I don't even have a problem with the CGI, as much as I do the overall design. I just don't like it.

Let's give it more credit than that. It looks like a PC game on max setting.:o

Is it 100% confirmed that it's Doomsday? I know it's been strongly rumored for a long time and it's basically confirmed, but I mean as in officially confirmed.

Who else could it be? Don't tell me this version of Luthor is a LOTR geek and wanted his own cave troll.

IGN did a trailer breakdown.

I know it's basically him, I just was wondering if they'd officially confirmed it.

The tone was really off-putting in that trailer. I really didn't expect that.

Eisenberg is just awful, that's probably the only thing I really did not like.

Watched it a couple more times today and checked out the Collider video. I think it would be great if that was Lex Luthor's public persona just like Bruce has his own. Then behind closed doors, he's more serious and....bald. But his scene with Lois and Superman at night, when Doomsday is about to be revealed for the first time, well, he's the same character. So like John Campea said, if Lex is like that throughout the whole movie it's going to be incredibly annoying and borderline Edward Nygma circa-1995.

The more i see Doomsday's design, the more i cringe. It's just really bad. Why not go all the way and make it closer to the comics? Unless the creature develops more and more, then cool. But so far, if you're going to reveal Doomsday to the masses, why not go all the way?

I have a feeling we're not getting too much dialogue in this film coming from Wonder Woman. Might be a good thing, or a bad thing, depends on her performance overall and what she can offer in her solo movie.

Zero problems with Batman, or Superman for that matter, because everything they showed with him was expected. As far as Cavill is concerned.

Amy Adams always looks like she has no idea how she got the part. It's a look on her face throughout MoS and even in that one shot in this trailer. Im just not used to that coming from her, with her other films. She's always so invested in her characters, but as Lois, she's FINE. It's nothing "bad' really, but she always seems a bit off and not that interested. It's always like a "my god im really in a movie like this" kinda face.

I did NOT even notice Darkseid's parademons in the trailer. I watched like it north to 10 times last night, and i didn't catch them in the desert/nightmare sequence until the guys from Collider mentioned it. So now im hoping it's a Bruce nightmare early on in the film, and a PREMONITION. Maybe that post-apocalyptic Mad Max-esque world will happen in the Justice League films with Darkseid as a dictator on planet earth, possibly even mind controlling Superman. Imprisoning the rest of the Justice League. Part 1 could end with Darkseid taking over completely and tossing them in separate dungeons after a good battle. Like a slight variation of Bruce's dream, with some details shifting here and there but pretty damn close. Then Part 2 is all about the Justice League escaping and bringing a war to Darkseid and winning it. I would love it if George Miller took over Part 2 in that case. Zack can mess with a solo Superman movie later on, with Brainiac.

Campea also brought up a cool idea. It's obvious that they showed us the final act in a nutshell with Doomsdays reveal and Trinity coming together (poor choice btw to spoil this), but what if it's a swerve? And it's in the second act? With a second fight happening at the end (the armored suit)? I seriously doubt it and believe WB f**ked up big time by blowing their load too early, but how cool would that be!? As Kristian Harloff said, i dig the Batman vs Superman trailer, i dont dig the Dawn of Justice trailer. Cuz that's what it felt like. That's what i was thinking last night while watching it. Trailer should have ended at 2 minutes.

What's the point? Bruce Wayne has a reason to put up a front. Why would Luthor?

Reminds me of 'what if Christoph Walts is not you-know-who. What if Andrew Scott is and this is a big sweve!' You're giving Hollywood too much credit.

Public persona to hide his evil self. Like a lot of powerful politicians and businessmen.

Even if it is just a public facade, it's still hard to watch so far because it's just **** acting.

IMO. :(

Eisenberg is just awful, that's probably the only thing I really did not like.

It felt like the trailer was cut specifically to counter to criticisms that it looks too dark. Didn't feel like a typical Snyder trailer. The marketing campaign for the movie is weird. It's still four months away and there's already three trailers, the most recent of which basically spells out the beats of the plot. I would've preferred more restraint.

And it didn't do much for me, honestly. I'm still not expecting a great movie out of this, despite some interesting ideas and what have you. Didn't like Batman's robot voice or him branding people. The suit looks great but the cowl is too bulky and looks as though it doesn't quite fit in some shots. I'm definitely not feeling Luthor. It seems like they sacrificed a lot of what's interesting about that character to me (his political power, history with Clark) to do something out there with it. Which is admirable but it still doesn't work for me. Can't tell if its the writing or Eisenberg but just making him an obnoxious young *****e ain't doing it. I also don't get why they're going for Doomsday so soon. The movie already seemed packed enough as it was.

On the plus side, Superman himself looked great.

It didn't feel like a Snyder trailer at all. The new cut for Good Morning America was even worse. They cut the best parts and kept the dumb ****.

It's so stupid of them to give Doomsday away. You know it wasn't Zack's idea, it was the studio forcing him to show more and more. I would have preferred to see Doomsday and Trinity teaming up in the cinema. Not in a trailer. That's what i can't stand about todays 3 minute trailers. It's ridiculous. Show me the whole damn movie why don't you. They should have taken a page from Star Wars.

They want to do Doomsday now, either because they have plans with Brainiac for a solo movie, or because they just wanted an excuse to bring the Trinity into it for a big fight. Which goes back to last week when i was saying that Trinity doesn't have to team-up in this film and we don't need another villain. It should have been Batman vs Superman, done.

What tension does that elicit? Even the latest trailer makes it clear that Batman is the loser. Supes is just humoring the poor guy. "If I wanted it, you would be dead already".

I don't know, i don't write scripts, but this Doomsday stuff isn't intriguing to me what so ever. I don't feel like there's tension anymore especially with the reveal of Doomsday and the many announcements of Justice League movies and solo Batman & Superman films.

It seems more and more like the superhero genre has left your heart. Accept it. Take a break. Then come back just for the fun of it. I've already went through this phase. Now I just watch superhero movies for 'fun'.

It was never in my heart to begin with. All i care about is Batman. Maybe Spider-Man on the side when he's by himself. I only watch other superhero movies for fun, when im bored and a new movie is coming out and the buddies want to go out and see it. I dont really care about most Marvel or DC characters. I know enough about them, there's some things i like, but it's never been "in my heart". I have ALWAYS found most superhero movies cliche and repetitive.

That's irrelevant though. I still want to see Batman movies put an emphasis on story, good supporting characters and villains. I just can't get with a mindless CG monster that isn't even played by an actor. Not even as their real identity before they become a monster. It's only....a monster. Or a cartoony, hammy Lex Luthor which is not the best Lex they could have created for a movie like this.

How can i take a break when there's a new superhero movie coming out every 2 months and everywhere you turn on the internet, there's people talking about the DC universe or Marvel universe? :hehe:
